If they fought about two years ago I'd have picked Ortiz, but right now I'll go with Beyonce by stoppage.

Ortiz is Fucking 38 and REED Has Yet to See him Chin Checked, but Aside from that, it's HARD Imagining Wilder Winning...

Wilder was Getting OUTCLASSED in Stretches vs. Szpilka and the Light Skinned Brother he KO'ed in his Last Fight...If Guys like THAT Have MOMENTS Where they Showcase Superior Boxing Skills to That of Wilder, Imagine What Ortiz Could Do to Him???...

Intriguing Fight for Sure Though, Because Wilder's POWER Has Bailed Him Out Every Time Thus Faaaaaaaaaaaaaar...

Ortiz is better but getting older and looking slower.

Wilder sucks but he can bang.

I honestly think the guy is one punch away from a KO

Wilder's chin is crap. Plus his defense. It won't be long before he gets clipped.

Ortiz was looking crappy last time out

Wilder's last fight was a joke. Wilder literally threw like 5 punches in 5 rounds. If He was petrified to unload on a lower level guy how dare he talk about being great. Wilder knows his chin sucks and fights accordingly. But that last fight was a joke. Literally nothing happened in the first 5 rounds. The other guy was winning by landing more faints.

  13. Ortiz will fuck Deontay up....I don't care about his age. Deontay is too wild and raw and those Cubans "have" craft.

The last guy Wilder fought was actually a really good boxer for a hw and probably would've given Ortiz a lot of trouble as well. He lacks intangibles but he's a difficult opponent for a lot of guys.

As others have said, Wilder can punch, that's about the only thing he does correctly. Ortiz is a vastly superior boxer and I feel should win that fairly easily. I'm surprised Wilder took this fight because there's not much to gain from a win compared to the risks associated with that fight. Was he forced? Is Ortiz his mandatory?

I think Ortiz wins this. Too skilled and seems to be pretty tough as well.

Stiverne is Wilder's mandatory but nobody wants to see that shit again.

I don't think the Ortiz fight happens. Too much risk, little reward. Wilder won't want to risk the Joshua fight from not happening.

  19. Ortiz reminds me a lot of Bowe without wing span - except even more lazy. He has lethargy and low energy. A motorvated Ortiz could be best out there.

I like Wilder for his enthusiasm, but he's not a phenom for sure - good solid punch but telegraphs a lot! I don't think he can keep Ortiz off him for entire 12 rounds so I think Ortiz stoppage or Wilder ugly UD.

I'll be happy to see as Heavyweight needs resolutions real soon now Wlad is gone and Fury is a sumo wrestler on crack. Not too many interesting options for the big guys. Joshua and Parker only two I see who are capable assure from the antagonists of the post.

Wilder will use the strategy je used against Stiverne and win this one. Ortiz is too old and slow now to cut him down

  21. Jeffy

Ortiz is 10 times the fighter than that bum Stiverne is.

In his prime, yes, but he's really old now.

He still is. Bermaine is older.

yeah, but the fight was almost 3 years ago, he was younger then than Ortiz is now

I'm gonna go with Ortiz via KO. I don't think he can win a decision.

I see him making Wilder miss and landing some stiff counters. One of those will put Wilder out. Wilder can win this, make no mistake. But he's soooooooooo sloppy and downright untested. This is a major jump in class against a more experienced fighter. The main concern with Ortiz is him getting caught again with some substance.

But Wilder is taking a huge chance by going for this fight and stands to blow the AJ pay day.

Still have my doubts that Wilder takes this fight.

I still don't believe this will happen. I saw fear in Wilder's eyes when he and Ortiz went face to face in the ring after Ortiz's last fight. Huge risk for Wilder. Won't happen.

every fight, i pick wilder to lose. But every fight he comes in looking even better than before. His confidence is growing and i hate to admit it, but he seems to be getting better. When this fight was first announced, i picked Ortiz no problem. Now? I honesty dont know.

Ortiz doesn't really bring much to the table right now, especially after what's been happening with him lately. And it seems like an eternity since he was involved in a decent matchup. If he fights Wilder and Wilder blasts him out of there, people will say that Ortiz is old, slow, overrated, bla bla bla, and he only beat guys like Jennings, Thompson and Dave Allen. Wilder would not get as much credit as a lot of people think he would get. People will just demand he fights Joshua even more. If Wilder's knocked out, well, there's no way he comes back from that. No way. His career would be in tatters. Forget the Joshua fight then.

Basically, if Ortiz was a huge name at heavyweight and a big money draw, it would make sense, but he's not. He doesn't even hold a belt.

Personally, it's just too big a risk for Wilder to take.
