    tennis player v ping-pong player in a ping-pong match?

rugby team v American football team in an American football match?

baseball v cricket in a cricket match?

    110m hurdler v 100m sprinter in a 100m sprint?

I'd say baseball-cricket, followed by rugby-NFL. I think tennis skills would translate well to table tennis. Hurdles and sprinting are similar enough where you could see the hurdler being competitive. Baseball-cricket is pretty good as an example because they're both bat and ball sports in the same way boxing and MMA are both fighting sports but the techniques used are so drastically different that being good at one would have absolutely no bearing on how well you do at the other.

Mcgregor is too much of a bitch to be a proper kick-boxer or Muay thai fighter,... he's more of a karate type.

    Karate vs boxing, at boxing.

Another reason why this is such a good comparison is that even though decathlon is the more all-around and thus more difficult sport and decathlete would do better in 100m than vice versa, the 100m, like boxing, is more respected because of its history and the special talent it requires

  22. Yup. It's an all round good analogy.
