Stranger Things (season 2)

Looks like Season 1 on steroids.

 

Exacty what I thought.
Same old trap that so many series fall into.

 

The first season was kind of how I feel about Inception in that I thought it was good but I didn't totally enjoy the experience. Therefore I will be skipping the second season starting with the trailer.

 

What's that?

 

I'm not going to judge it just based on seeing a trailer.

 

Debut movies and TV shows that subsequently get a load of money thrown at them to try and make them better for the sequel....

 

Okay, so the time has finally arrived to see if Stranger Things can equal or top its first season: Season Two airs today.

Just started season 2. I’m enjoying it so far

 

Great season. Always thought the first season was overhyped even though I liked it a lot. This new season is much better. It helps when you're more familiar with the characters.

 

Agreed.
Alhtough the one and only negative was the impossibly bad and out-of-place Episode 7 which has been universally derided...

 

It was very out of place. There has to be a payoff for those characters later.

 

Watched the first episode 'Mad Max' last week and it was so-so. Haven't feel the urge to keep watching the rest. Maybe I will eventually. Don't know when, though.

 

It's' better than season 1.
Better story, better characters.

 

Gotta disagree with the consensus here. I thought Season 1 was head and shoulders better then Season 2.

If Season 1 was a 10, I'd give Season 2 a 7.

Season 1 was much more stylish to me. Season 2 was convoluted as fuck, and filled with what seemed like more fan service, then actual coherent plot. Not to mention the method in which they saved the world from utter annihilation at the end. Seemed pretty deus ex machina to me.

 

I agree with the fan-service aspect but they nipped it in the bud I thought, e.g. the ridículo 'Justice For Barb' shit...a fat, ugly, speccy ginger who had like, 20mins screen-time.
More pros:
* Steve & Nancy relationship ended quickly.
* less screen-time of Eleven.
* more about the kids.
* more involvment with Sheriff Hopper.
* great new character - Bob Newby.
* more multi-plots

Episode 7 was both terrible and almost ruined the flow of the series

 

I loved season 2. I thought it was every bit as enjoyable as season 1.

 

Eleven is a seriously cute kid. I'd adopt her.

 

I was expecting it not to be but definitely agreed.
