If Broner head was in boxing, I think I would pick him. But the guy seems completly unmotivated for the last few years. Garcia wins a UD

Again, no win for Garcia. He is not going to out perform Madaina or Porter in victory. And he could very well lose. I guess he will get more exposure than his average outing, but I think people seeing him for first time will not be impressed given the weight disadvantage. I hope I am wrong because I think Garcia is good and would like to see him love up to his potential. But I have my doubts. Think this was a mistake on the part of Garcia's team.

Garcia has a lot to win, Double. A lot of casuals are gonna be tuned in on Sat night. Sadly, Broner is the second most popular African American fighter in boxing behind Floyd. He's more popular than Ward, Crawford, Spence, and Thurman, four brothas who are a lot better, yet aren't as well known as AB. And what's more...CASUALS actually think that Broner is an elite fighter.

If Garcia wins in style, it goes a long way to making him a mainstream name.

He has A LOT to win on Saturday. And if he loses? He can say he's not meant for 140.

Broner should have stayed at 135lbs. He's simply not big enough for these higher weights.

    It's 1000% true.

Outside of Floyd, Broner is the ONLY other African American who's known by American casual boxing fans.

Nobody outside of the hardcores has any clue who Ward, Spence, Crawford, Thurman, are.

Spence got a lot of exposure fighting after the Olympic basketball team and then against brook. He is on the cusp of crossing over

I expect Spence to become a mainstream name in 2018 when he destroys Thurman in primetime.

Ward will never be a mainstream star. And it's looking doubtful for Crawford.

Ward couldn't sell water in the desert.

Crawford needs the Pacman fight to have any chance to cross over. Spence needs the Mayweather fight to cross over.

Basically neither of those fights will happen.

Spence has more star quality than Crawford.

By time Spence-Thurman rolls around next year, it'll be hyped to the point where it WILL garner some mainstream attention, and it'll no doubt be held at Barclay Center, where it'll sell out.

Spence has the fan friendly style, and the quiet charisma to become a name. And it doesn't hurt that (no homo), he's a good lookin dude for a fighter.

Sadly, Brother X is Right; Adrien Broner IS the 2nd Most Popular African - American Boxer, Currently...

For Whatever Reason, Black Fighters Have Had to Resort to LOWEST Common Denominator Bullshit, to Resonate, These Days...Over the Top Arrogance/Narcissism, THUGish Dalliances (Court Cases, Arrests, Jail Time, etc.), and a Complete DISregard for Financial Security...

In a PERFECT World, Andre Ward Would Be Faaaaaaaaaaaaar and Away Boxing's Biggest African - America Fighter AND a Household Name By Now...Olympic Gold Medal, Undefeated Since Middle School or So, Religious w/Out Rubbing His Belief's in People's Faces, Well Spoken, Good Looking, Family Man, STOUT Resume, World Titles @ 2 Weight Classes...

Unfortunately, his Bouts DON'T Resonate and his Career has Been Marred w/Inactivity...Andre Ward is Living Proof a Fighter Can Do EVERYTHING the "Right Way", Tick ALL the Boxes of HOW You Want a Fighter to Compose Himself, Away from the Ring, yet STILL Be Relatively Anonymous Outside of his Hometown...

The Spence-Thurman Winner (Spence) Will Be the Next Mainstream African - American Boxer...Thurman has a Different LOOK and is Verbal Enough to Keep the Mainstream Interested...

Spence is More Ward Like, in that he's Basically Clean-Cut...No Hardened Upbringing, Both Parents In his Life, Doesn't Flaunt his Money...That Being Said, Spence is a TAD Edgier than Ward and he's Full of Thought Provoking Opinions, the Media Just Has to ASK the Right Questions...

Broner isn't as talented as Spence or Crawford but he's a controversial figure that draws more attention to the people. People love bad guys.

Will weight not be an issue for Garcia against Broner?

    I hope Garcia stops him.

But my gut tells me he will win a clear UD. Broner will try early on but once he sees that Garcia wants it more and is all business, he'll be content to coast and not risk himself in any way. It won't be as bad as the Porter fight because Broner looks to be in better shape for this one, but he won't be able to cope with Mikey's skill and focus. First 6 rounds should be interesting, but look for Mikey to take over, and start to touch Broner with some serious shots, and AB will be content to sit back and take his loss standing.

    Garcia via UD.

Damn AB, good for you. I thought he would make the weight, but I thought he'd be right on the nose at 140.

138 tells us that for once he kept his word and trained hard.

Can't wait for tomorrow! This should be an explosive fight!

    Still favoring Garcia.

Im goin for broner. This will be the biggest strongest fastest fighter that mikey has ever fought. People keep claiming that broner is a bitch. However in his 2 L's he fought to the very end and ended up hurting both maidana as well porter in the last round of both fights. And lemme ask a question does a guy moving up to 140 punch harder then maidana at 147? I feel that broner has a lot more to lose and will show up and not only beat mikey but do it fairly easy.

Garcia doesn't have the raw heavy handedness of Maidana. But then again, that caveman Maidana doesn't have the technique and accuracy of Garcia.

Mikey will land A LOT on AB.

Agree, but I don't expect Broner to be competitive for 6 rounds. It will be fewer. The guy who fought Maidana tough probably doesn't exist anymore. Plus, so long as Garcia carries the weight, he just has a nice style advantage over Broner. This is like Freitas vs Corrales. The end of Freitas vs Corrales.

138 is low, probably too low for AB. He is in trouble tonight.

Before Fights of this Magnitude, REED Loooooooooooves Surfing the 'Net for Predictions...

For "Whatever Reason", Boxing People (Not Fightbeater's, Necessarily) are Relying on Age Old Stereotypes to Base their Thoughts On, Particularly Those Picking Broner to Win...

"Broner's Toooo SLICK for Mikey"..."Broner EATS UP Fighters Like Mikey"...REED Even Heard Andre Rozier Suggest Broner has the BETTER JAB!!!...

Sorry, but there's NATHAN "Slick" about Broner's Style...He's Got a FAUX Shoulder Roll and FANCIES Himself Floyd-Lite, but that In Itself DOESN'T Make a Fighter "Slick"...

Broner's a Flat Footed Power Puncher, who RARELY Throws a Jab...And of ALL the Guys who've EVER Utilized the Shoulder Roll, Broner's Defense is Faaaaaaaaaaaar and Away the WORST...

Those Claiming Broner "Eats Up" Fighters Like Mikey are Suggesting Mikey's the Stereotypical Face First Mexican, Which Couldn't Be Fuuuuuuuurther from the Truth...

The Slicker, More POLISHED Fighter Here is Mikey Garcia...Better Jab Belongs to Garcia Also...For Broner to Win, he's Gonna Have Do Mikey the Way Maidana Did Him...He's NOT Going to Win Trying to Be More TECHNICAL than Mikey...

Mikey UD is a Safe Pick, but he Just MIGHT Stop Broner Late...
