I thought about this as I re-read Howard Cosell's book a while ago.

Cosell had a hard-on for Sugar Ray and he echoed Ray's thoughts about judges being against him. It was proven by Hearns 1 (which was scored for Tommy even though the book claimed Ray had turned it around) and Duran 2 and Benitez bouts (which were pretty even on scorecards even though they shouldn't have been).

Many I guess see it differently, Hagler and Hearns 2 bouts could indicate that Ray was judges favorite.

Canelo Alvarez seems to do better with official scorecards than public opinion (Trout, Lara, PBF), whereas Fres Oquendo has been robbed like six times.

What is your take on Leonard's luck and name some other examples

Marvin Hagler had bad luck: the loss to Watts, draw with Antuofermo, closeness of the Duran fight, loss to Leonard. I have no issue though with SRL winning, it was very close and I had it even.

Muhammad Ali had good luck with the judges.
