This! I agree completely. I was all for the dark tone too, because I prefer serious dialogue and a serious film over dialogue having a joke every minute or trying to make every line sound cool. DC was doing the dark tone, but they have two near failures and pull the plug. Now their plan is to just copy the Marvel formula. So instead of trying to be the Burger King to Marvel's McDonalds they instead opt to be the Myspace to Marvel's Facebook.

Nobleart says he'll take DC films over Marvel's generic product any day of the week which is funny because DC's plan is to just copy what Marvel is doing, even though DC keeps doing a much much worse job at it. I wanted both products to be different and yet for both to still be good but that hasn't happened yet.

 

Come on, dude! Only two films from that list are true Marvel Studios films! Your initial line of 'don't blame FOX either' is idiotic. It is like saying 'Ghostbusters reboot was a disappointment, but don't blame the studio decision makers'.
Captain America: The First Avenger is a good film. One of my favorite Marvel Films which had an 80% certified fresh RT score and was a box office winner. I like Thor: The Dark World even though it is one of the weakest films in MCU catalog, but that can hardly be called 'subpar'.

 

Me too, but the 'going dark' approach just doesn't work on-screen or are badly executed. I prefer they don't do any more DC films if they are going to continue delivering fiasco after fiasco.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Aquaman always pretty useless out of water?

 

I thought that also.

I remember Marvel's Sub-Mariner being depleted of some strength out of water....but Aquaman was pretty much done.

Zack Snyder is out of the director's chair for 'Justice League'! The tragic death by suicide of his daughter, Autumn, prompted Snyder to stop his work at the DC film. It has been reported that Joss Whedon will now be replacing Snyder as director for the film which has a release date of November 17, 2017.

Yup, Joss Whedon wont have much impact on the film at this stage. The success of this film relies heavily on the reception that Wonder Woman gets. If wonder woman turns out to be bad, Justice League will bomb.

Well it looks like that for the Aquaman movie, director James Wan discarded the silly Mera costume and came up with the REAL one that enhances both the character and Amber Heard!

 

Me too. James Wan can turn this one into a memorable film.
