Oscar doesn't really have any advantages over Leonard. He's kind of like Sugar Ray - lite. Leonard by decision.
I cant see DLH even being competitive with Leonard. Ray would beat him at every facet of the game. Outside, inside, Ray would beat him to the punch everytime and finish every exchange. Oscar probably goes into surival mode in this one, after realizing Ray has him way outgunned. Maybe he lasts the distance in a 12 rounder, but in a 15 rounder theres no doubt in my mind Ray stops him.
De la Hoya would be ultra cautious (no suprise) in this fight and allow Leonard to an easy pts victory.
Leonard by UD or late stoppage (he was a terrific finisher). 8-4, 9-3 type fight in a 12 rounder. Oscar does most things at a high level. Ray did them even better.
Leonard is roughly the same height as Oscar and he's a better two fisted puncher. Oscar would catch a career ending beating because Ray had what Floyd didn't...a killer instinct. Ray would have hurt Oscar. The "onliest" way Oscar doesn't get KO'd is if he starts the Trinidad Shuffle in round four or five.
Leonard all the way for reasons stated by Xplosive. Ray has Oscar beat in every department just about. The only thing Oscar could hope for is that he'd be able to make his jab as effective as Hearns was able to make his on Leonard. But if not, then he'll be chopped up quickly and left for dead. My guess is that Leonard would stop him in 10 rounds.
Amazing how Oscar is so underrated ... Oscar would be competitive with anyone at Welter .. People also tend to forget that DLH was a hard puncher at Welter himself .. Anyway , I pick Leonard by decision with DLH having a few good moments. Leonard beats him , I just don't understand why DLH is treated as such a C-class fighter in this match up. He has never been owned by anyone he has fought to give off that impression ..
