Movies that are called "overrated" so much that they're underrated

Self explanatory. Name some movies that are so fashionable to call overrated, that they've actually become underrated.

I'll start with Forrest Gump. People LOVE bashing this movie, and saying how overrated it is, but the TRUTH IS... it's become underrated by movie snobs.

Gump is an excellent movie with great performances turned in by Hanks, Gary Sinise, Robin Wright, and Sally Field. It's also HIGHLY re-watchable and fun, and don't act like it's not. It's one of the most QUOTED movies of all time, it must have done something right.

I think the bitterness comes from the fact that it won Best Picture over Pulp Fiction. Ok, I get that, but doesn't mean it wasn't a quality movie.

1. I agree with this one. It's considered cool to shit on Titanic, especially when you're younger, but truthfully it's a quality movie. The SECOND BEST movie of 97 though, as LA Confidential deserved best picture. But I digress.

2. Nope. This one is called overrated for a reason. It's a shit movie.

3. I've only seen parts of GWTW. It was too boring to compel me.

 

I've heard a lot of hardcore homophobes that like to degrade Philadelphia, but Philadelphia is a very good movie.
