It just means that 90% of people can't discern between boxing and MMA skillsets.

You have idiots who don't know shit about EITHER combat sport who are thinking the best guy in boxing is fighting the best guy in MMA, this is gonna be good!

Then you have the MMA groupies who have zero knowledge of boxing, and think that just because Conor has elite striking skills in MMA that those skills will transfer over well in a BOXING RING, under BOXING RULES, against one of the most skilled and talented BOXERS that ever lived.

So, those are a few reasons for the shorter odds.

It's refreshing to hear a lot of hardcore MMA fans I've talked to recently who aren't hardcore boxing fans, but watch and know ENOUGH about boxing to have a semi-intelligent convo. And every single one of those people have told me the same thing, "Yeah, I want Conor to win badly, but I know he has no chance."

I have kind of the same stance. I want Conor to shut that whiny bitch up. But I also want Floyd to win because I don't want all of the UFC douchebags claiming that mma>boxing. I'm also versed enough in both sports that Conor is going to be embarrassed. Rich as fuck, yet still embarrassed.

McGregor has size and youth and he has top notch boxing skills in MMA. Floyd is coming out of 2 years retirement at 40 and hasn't KO'd an opponent since forever. And his atrocious boring performance against Pacquaio isn't exactly scaring anybody. McGregor is on Twitter and Instagram everyday, showing off his training and absolute confidence. Floyd is mostly invisible and only talking about money and strip clubs. I can see why more and more people are betting on the bigger, stronger and much younger and hungry McGregor.

I'm thinking of betting big on mayweather. 3/10? Seems like free money

Good 'that should sell ppvs to idiots' chat. He should use some bruce Wayne tactics and come into the ring in Kevlar

I just don't get it, Floyd is only at -334 (meaning that for every 334$ you bet on him, you win 100$ plus your 334$). Has the world gone mad or is there something I don't see. As of now, I just put a huge amount of $$ of Floyd (2500$ yesterday when he was -400, and another 2500$ today at -334) and will probably up the ante to 10 000$ by fight night.

Yikes, no way I'd risk that much on any sporting event (even if I had it lying around, which I don't) but I'm gonna bet more than ive ever bet on anything before. Not til the w/e tho because I think more idiot-money will flood into macgregor and tighten the odds up even more.

To be honest when I saw the Floyd at -400, I thought that there's no way the odds were going to get any better for him. I wanted to bet 10 000$ right away on him but couldn't since my debit card is limited at 2500$ per day for online purchase, which at the time, made me mad but turned out to be a good thing considering the 2500$ I bet today are at even better odds. With a little bit of luck, they'll be even better tomorow, but I expect huge money to come on Floyd soon though.

Floyd's gonna cause McGregor's brain to swell, so he'll be well on his way to becoming Bruce.

Not that it matters in this fight, but 40 years is very high for a welterweight

good to hear that he fucked himself out of getting proper people to spar with

with all the money involved you'd think he could get anyone he wanted
though Malignaggi talked about how cheap he is..making sparring partners sleep on couches and shit...can't escape those tight Irish genes i suppose

seriously, i've heard them a couple of times go into detail about bruce lee's technique, and how it's informed conor's training. CM's loose-armed punches with a snap on the end apparently modelled on bruce lee's. that in tandem with conor saying his boxing inspirations are Ali, Roy Jones, and Naseem Hamed. these people are either mental or geniuses.

If it were free I would watch it. But I still think it is a bullshit fight. And that is not because I'm an elitist. It is because I recognize the matchup for what it is - an insulting money grab.

True. That is apparent. Guy agrees to leave behind half his arsenal and play his opponent's game.

    I´m not.
McGregor isnt moving the needle in this fight: he is the needle.
    A guy who´s never boxed.

You ever never seen such a push on a fight like this before?
May v Pac had the 5 years to where they didnt even need to promote it.

This has been on ESPN every single day and likewiese, no word of GGG vs Canelo at all on ESPN.
There has been a NFL survey on the Mayweaher vs McGregor fight where all the teams were asked who they thought would win.
I´ve seen it advertised in the theaters, cabs, buses.
Every single day, on every social media feed, good or bad the world is talking about this fight.

    It´s insane.

    And its because of McGregor.
