The brilliance of Mayweather

One could make a compelling argument that this is the best clinic in boxing history.

Damn I was front row ringside for the greatest clinic in the history of boxing!

 

I did get a kick outta hearing that hack Stephen A Smith, who claims to be a "hardcore" boxing fan, when asked to name Floyd's best career performance, he said the Canelo fight.

Real hardcore fans are suppose to know that the Corrales fight was Floyd's best performance. Or, at worst, it's top 3.

Personally, I consider the Ndou fight Floyd's best performance.

 

That was a flawless execution of a then unbeaten, un-dropped, larger and very powerful fighter. The fact that Corrales went on to beat Frietas, Casamayor and Castillo shows you how great this performance was.

 

After Corrales I have to go with Gatti...even though it was Gatti.

 

There's not a wrong answer between Corrales, Ndou, and Gatti.

But saying Canelo definitely exposed Smith as a mainstream boxing hack.

I don't consider the Canelo performance top 5.

The Hatton performance ranks ahead of Canelo.

 

For the record, my reasoning for Ndou over Corrales is that Floyd was a bit more polished and experienced in the Ndou fight, while still just as athletic.

And my reasoning for Ndou over Gatti is that he utilized more of his skillset in the Ndou fight. Floyd actually had to FIGHT against Ndou, and it brought out the best in him.

Against Gatti, he was simply teeing off on a punching bag.

 

Which ringcard girl were you?

 

Smith had never heard of Randall Baily leading into the Pacquiao/Horn fight. That shows he does not know shit and should not be called upon in any capacity to comment on boxing. And if he is, he should qualify everything he says. Instead, he shows no hesitation to make judgements despite his obvious ignorance

 

Wow. Never noticed before but the ref sure was breaking them quick in that fight.

 

His title winning performance against Hernandez was great too. So polished for a young fighter.

 

I always really liked the Chavez fight.

 

I don't think saying that Canelo was PBF best performance is absurd. He completely dominated a big, good young fighter, that many tought would win (me included, as shameful as it is). It was a very impressive performance

 

Best performance, i dont know.. but this was without a doubt Floyds 'coming out' fight. There was no question after this that he could contend with anyone. there wasnt any talk of tbe yet but noone could overlook him.

 

Mayweather is a brilliant businessman.
