agree. that press conference was the most doubtful CM's sounded in months. harder to delude yourself when reality's three days away and you realise there are still whole fields of boxing technique that you've barely even touched.

floyd, by contrast, sounded more relaxed than over the past few months. the publicity cycle is almost over, and the actual boxing is about to begin - now it's his turn to shine

McGregor looks at it more like a street fight than a boxing match. He'll go for the clinches and pull down on arms, push and grab and shove and wrestle onto the ropes...sort of a John Ruiz style and mix it with aggressive attacks in spurts from left and right stances...but it will be very draining. He only had 8 minutes of calculated aggression in the 2nd Diaz fight before he needed to regroup to catch some air. The first Nate fight was about 6-7 minutes of sustained aggression before his ouput lessened considerably and his hands began dropping more.

 

He wont get the opportunity to even do that. Mayweather's going to walk through him like a hot knife through butter. Because McGregor is a southpaw counter puncher...Floyd's strategy will be to walk forward behind a high guard, and nail him with lead right hands, body shots and check hooks (when Floyd steps back). It'll be brutal.

 

in this last presser Mayweather said something to the effect of "You can dis it out...but are you prepared to take it? Can you take it?" That will be the story of the fight. I have no doubt at all that Conor will NOT be able to take the punishment. He'll be ready to quit after a couple of rounds after the merciless pounding he'll be receiving to both head and body as Floyd stays in the pocket and fucks him up.
