I think we are using the term "street fight" literally here.

Think of it more as, two guys locked in a room to beat each other's ass. Whoever walks out wins.

More times than not, the MMA fighter will be the one walking out of that room.

i guess street fight now refers to combat between bunk mates in prison. the larry phillips theory

Of course. I cant even believe this argument had to be made here. Clearly im not talking about someone being jumped by their friends. but whatever

In a lot of these "real fights" I think the MMA guys would be shocked at fucking fast a boxer is.

This is true. But the MMA guy is more versatile and can change game plans. Simply has more tools.

I agree that the boxer has the higher level of skill, but the MMA guy has more to work with.

In SOME cases. In other cases, they wouldn't have time to change game plans. They'd be unconscious.

Which is excactly why I said, it depends on the individual and the circumstance.

Of course. Neither discipline is going to win 100% of the time

Ok. So we're on the same page.

My only other assumption is that we're talking about a boxer vs MMA guy of equal sizes in these "street fights".

Cause Tyson might be old as fuck, but even now he'd end Conor's life in a "real fight".

    Yes, equal sizes and abilities.

    Imagine Stipe vs. Beyonce Wilder

The real fight thing is such horse shit. It's something that a lot of MMA fans say to make it sound like MMA fighters are tougher than Boxers.

If you put a boxer in a cage they are most likely getting their ass kicked because it's a different sport. Same goes for a MMA fighter in the boxing ring.

If some of the top boxers had trained for MMA since they were kids instead of boxing they would probably be very successful. But the fact that they chose to dedicate themselves to boxing doesn't mean they are less of a fighter.

Even McGregor seemed to gain respect for Floyd as a fighter after their Match.

My feeling is if a fight erupted at really close quarters, the MMA guy would have a better chance of grabbing onto the boxer and taking them down.

The more distance between them, the greater the chance of the boxer getting off punches. And once the boxer connects, I think the vast majority of the time the MMA guy is fucked before he has a chance to do anything.

Fuck off. You are the one who are ignorant as fuck with Floyds cock permantly embedded up your ass.

It is horseshit. And yeah, Conor had to the learn the hard way that boxers can "fight", which is something a lot of MMA fan boys had a misconception about.

I guess they've heard that boxing is an "art" for so damn long, that they didn't understand that this is a HIGHLY, HIGHLY rough, and violent sport.

Anyone that thinks MMA guys are tougher than boxers or the other way around are fucking dumb. And i dont see many people making that argument.

Keep living in your fantasy world where MMA fans are highly respectful toward boxing. It's not the reality.

It is a FACT that many of them picked Conor because they thought Floyd was soft.

I never used the words highly respectful. I mean how much fucking shit can you make up in a single thread. You love put words in everyone's mouth. You seriously have very little knowledge on anything related to MMA or their fans. But you think you are some kind of fucking expert. I'm embarrassed for you.

  23. This thread should be celebrating how much global focus was put on and will be put on both Boxing and MMA.

Last week it was news EVERYWHERE.

Both sports have benefitted massively from last week's fight...

Rogan knows the techniques and counter techniques for striking and groundwork, so he's good at calling MMA fights as they go. He's also a decent martial artist in his own right.

But the fact is, despite the above, he really knows nothing about fighting and is more of a fanboy type of guy.

If Rogan was on Fightbeat, he'd be run off quickly with his stupid statements.

I think he sucks now. He always get too excited at the slightest sub attempt, even if it's a half assed one that will obviously go nowhere
