Doesn't change the fact that prime Leonard was better and beat better opposition than the illiterate cherry picker. And to answer the question, Canelo by decision over the Leonard of 91, but Leonard is more competitive with the slow, plodding Ginger than he was against the athletic, dynamic Norris.
Lol. I like to trigger you I must admit. You try to dismiss longevity as though it is meaningless. But it isn't. Longevity at the top is a very telling accomplishment and it speaks to an athlete's ability. A former 130lb fighter did to a large 154lb fighter at age 36 what another great who is naturally much bigger couldn't hope to achieve and that same age. Try to deny it all you want but that tells you something. Longevity in any sport doesn't happen by accident. It means the athlete is no fluke and that he was that much better than his peers st his peak that even as he slides he's still winning.
Let's just make this the match-up we'd rather see.... Leonard at 25 vs Canelo at 25. Ray beats the Giner up worse than he did Juanita.

Let's say PBF retired at 100-0 and had fought everyone in the last 20 years from 126 to 160.....the idiotic nature of boxing fans would still mean that people wouldn't rank him even in the top 5 all time. Two reasons: 1. He's contemporary 2. He's unlikeable in any other era (pre-80s) a guy that retires at 50-0, having won titles in 5 weight classes, having been successful in over 25 championship fights and having never been dropped and having fought equivalent names to De La Hoya, Mosley, Corrales, Castillo, Hatton, Canelo, Cotto, Pacquiao...basically the who's who of the last 20 years in those weight classes...would be anointed P4P GOAT without question.
Sly is passive aggressively telling us that yes, he considers Floyd the GOAT... which would be respectable IF he didn't tear down the accomplishments of every other GOAT candidate to support his opinion, while making up every excuse possible in defense of any Floyd criticisms.
Nah...I don't necessarily think he's the GOAT. I think he's top 3-5 all time. What I'm saying though is that his claim isn't as ridiculous as y'all pretend it is. The guy has some very impressive accomplishments and has proven to be a great talent on top of that.
