Game of Thrones!!!

yeah.... i generally prefer something less violent and more optimistic, like The Sopranos....

 

When watching Game of Thrones there's no room for softness, no place for weakness. Only the hard and strong can watch Game of Thrones; only the hard...only the strong.

 

I am still crushed by Boromir's death. I honestly never saw that one coming.

 

I disagree with Genius that it's a hard watch at first. I was hooked on the first episode as soon as Tyrion was introduced. I've never seen the Sopranos but I think it's got similar strengths as GOT. If you like dramas, awesome characters with cool accents and some of the best dialogue to ever grace a tv show you can't go wrong here.

I think it's twice as brilliant as the Star Wars franchise as each country and family has their own history that spans several hundred years and it's actually all documented and not something that isn't written or thought out. There are also great twists in the story. IMO the sword fights, and dragons are actually the slower parts of the show. Well maybe not the dragons, but even still, the best part about this show is watching how far and to what end each person or character goes to either survive or gain power. Give it a chance, trust me this isn't just some overrated pop culture event where you're the cool one because you don't partake. You're just a guy whose missing out on the best show ever created.

 

You posted that spoiler for Rooster on purpose. I don't know if the eps he saw revealed that or not but if he starts watching now you've totally spoiled season 1 for him.

The dialogue and the politics is what makes this show so epic. The sword fighting and fantasy elements are just icing on the cake. I particularly love the dialogue between Varys and Littlefinger.

 

I love when Tywin is on the show. That actor was the perfect guy to play him. I also like the chats between Tyrion and Cersi or hell, Tyrion and pretty much anyone.

 

Tywin is an excellent character...and masterfully played.

 

I thought that may have been the best episode. It's definitely one of my favorites. The last 2 episodes of season 6 were great.

I'm not really sure which is the weakest season. Maybe this last one, although it was still very entertaining. Seasons 3 and 4 were probably my favorites.

 

I also feel season 6 last episode's opening scene is probably the best scene in all GoT.

I did not. I am assuming that on a GOT thread filled with spoilers left and right I can talk about some shit from season one. If Rooter has any interest in watching a show that has been around for seven years, then he needs to stay away from this thread.

Yeah but from my point of view we were clearly trying to talk Rooster into getting into GOT and watching from the beginning. All of a sudden you pop up with one of the biggest GOT spoilers a nonwatcher can read.

The sad thing is that you've ruined it for yourself by not experiencing the first season and finding that out as it happened. That whole situation is what set up the phenomenon that the show has become.
