Anybody know who the judges are going to be

LOL! Gotta give up it up to you for this one.

 

I'm not one to throw around PED accusations, but I swear Canelo is suddenly more jacked than ever, and his stamina miraculously seemed much better in the Chavez Jr fight. It could of course have something to do with the fact that Chavez Jr was literally a walking punchbag, so it was kind of a 12 round "workout" rather than fight, but not sure.

Has anyone new joined his camp recently?

Become impatient really? That's a surprising observation. He definitely looked to have lost a step in the Brook and Jacobs fights, but I do truly believe it could well be down to a cold or something in the Brook fight, he looked off, and simply a bad style matchup in Jacobs. Jacobs is huge and can box.

But I have to say he looked plenty patient against Jacobs, too patient IMO. I think he won clearly, but should have done more, put more of a stamp on the fight. He was applying steady, patient pressure all the way through but never really stepped it up.

 

Not remotely, just a random observation really. PEDs or not, I fully believe he's getting wrecked by Gennady, and Gennady's superior stamina will play a role.

He's on the decline and Canelo is at his peak. Changing of the guard is imminent...

 

Gennady's recent habit of blocking punches with his face will be his undoing in this one..

 

Golovkin's defence was absolutely fine in the Jacobs fight. It looked bad against Brook and some others, but I think it was basically like Floyd Vs PillowFists McGregor - he simply didn't give a shit about getting hit by such weak, pathetic punchers.

His defence was good against a solid puncher in LeMoo, and I expect the same here.

 

Look out for Canelo's right hand to the body under GGG's jab. Remember I said it first here....

Maybe impatient isn't the best adjective... he appears to be loading up to me and not setting things up

 

If GGG is sloppy with that jab this is all he's gonna see all night long

Only the Hagler-esque chin of Miguel Cotto can handle a flush Canelo power punch.

 

True..Canelo should have stopped Cotto. Still GGG wouldn't be as safety first as Cotto was in that fight...GGG will be in seek and destroy mode as usual and as such he'll likely get hit with more flush shots than Cotto did. Having said all of that I'll reiterate that I don't see canelo stopping him...but I do see him hit GGG enough times and hard enough that it will discourage many of Golovkins advances

 

OK. I suppose that's more lazy, maybe.

 

As Roy Jones would put it: He's trying to find the easy way out; he wants the knock out without having to work for it.

All in all though I don't think GGG will expect Canelo to fold based on single punches and I think he'll be patient and methodical. My thoughts are that Canelo's faster hands and varied offensive bursts will attract the eye of teh judges more

I agree with Sly in that Canelo is now much more dangerous and powerful than he was, say, four years ago and his wins and losses back then do not matter at all

Changing my pick... Canelo by undeserved decision... GGG has to knock him out and I'm not confident he can especially when it's pretty much his only chance to get a fair shake
