Great trade for the Cavs. Have no idea why the T-Wolves would agree to it.

I do. Kyrie, KAT, Butler is a deadly big 3.

I'd give up Teague and a 1st Round pick, but certainly not Wiggins.

The Wolves wanna win now. They haven't been a quality team since the KG years... which was like a 100 years ago.

Plus, I don't think they view Wiggins as their cornerstone anymore. They clearly view KAT as their franchise cornerstone.

Kyrie gives the Wolves a better chance to win NOW than Wiggins does. Kyrie's currently in his prime.. Wiggins is only 22, and still has a few years left before he probably peaks.

The Kobe/T-Mac comparisons that Wiggins used to get will never come to pass. Wiggins isn't as talented as Kobe or McGrady were, and that was ALWAYS apparent to me. But... I DO think Wiggins can still be one of the better perimeter players in the league if he reaches his potential. Because of his two-way potential, he can peak higher than the one dimensional Irving.

But RIGHT NOW... Irving's a more impactful player.

And a big part of the Wolves rationale in wanting Irving I'm SURE has to do with the fact of his individual success against the Warriors.

Irving is a proven elite player in the league, under contract the next two seasons at a very reasonable salary. Im not sure when wiggins contract is up but he will surely break the bank. If they think they can keep irving long term then its a great trade for the wolves.

w/Wiggins and Butler, Minnesota has THE Best Perimeter Defense in the Entire League...The Type of Defense that Gives Golden State Fits AFTER a Year of Playoff Experience...

Kyrie Irving is a Better Pure SCORER than Wiggins, but Wiggins is a LOT Bigger and Considerably More VERSATILE...No Way Does REED Give Up Wiggins for Kyrie, if he's Thibodeaux...

I'd give up butler straight up for irving before wiggins, personally. But doubt Thibodaux would

Yeah, but Irving is a closer and he is one of the better scorers in the league. If Wiggins was at least a comparable scorer right now itd be different. But as of right now, Wiggins is inconsistent and sometimes erratic as a scorer.

A trio of Irving/KAT/Butler makes the Wolves the biggest threat to GS on paper.

You have Kyrie, who gives Steph fits. Butler is capable of playing great D on Durant, and when KAT enters his prime, the Dubs will have no big man who can guard him.

I'm sure the Spurs and Rockets will be better than the Wolves in the regular season, but come playoffs we know that Harden and Paul are gonna choke, and we know that all of Spurs except for Leonard are gonna choke.

Actually, I would also. Butler is the oldest of all the guys we're discussing and has the least potential in the long run.

    Thibs loves Butler tho.

I think the future move for KAT once his rookie contract is up is to go to the Spurs and become Duncan 2.0. If Pop is still there KAT, Kawai and the Spurs system would be very formidable.

KAT should wanna build his own legacy, and win the first ring in Wolves franchise history. If he can one day do that, he can be remembered as the greatest player in Timberwolves history.

Duncan will always be the greatest Spurs player in history. Just like Hakeem will always be the greatest Rocket, Bird will always be the greatest Celtic, and Dirk will always be the greatest Mav.

Watching wiggins play, I don't see this great perimeter defender. He has potential but he is not there

I've seen it in spots, but it's inconsistent. I've also seen some games where he was an unstoppable scorer, but then have a dreadful scoring game afterwards.

He's 22 years old, so his potential can't be written off yet.

Among young perimeter players, I definitely see the most superstar potential in Devin Booker. Booker is potentially special.

Looks like we got our first victim. Brandon Knight tears his ACL and is expected to miss the entire season.

Knight's career has been disappointment, although, he was never super talented to be begin with.

The COMBINATION of Wiggins and Butler is What Would Make them Great Defensively...

If You've Got Wiggins Guarding the Opposing Team's 2nd Best Perimeter Player/Wing, he's WINNING that Matchup More Times than Not...

After watching Steph Curry mock Lebron with Kyrie laughing do you guys think Lebron is the least respected sports superstar in history. phonetap can't think of another so openly disrespected.

I think the word is out that he's sensitive. I can't think of any player considered the best being this mocked but social media probably just made this more visible.

He's retired and while that got big, other players weren't doing it. LeBron is getting outright mocked by his competition.

Well LBJ did make those funeral cookies about The Warriors when The Cavs won their championship so I'd say that makes them even. On top of that Curry claims he wasn't mocking LBJ but rather just imitating the same moves LBJ did because he thought it was cool.

Either way I like Curry as a player and he seems cool off the court. What I don't like is the braggadocio shit he does on the court all the time. When he makes a cool move and does a shimmy or some other post show-off type of move it's so millennial to me and I think it's beneath him.

So many kids look up to him and even though he may be teaching a whole generation of kids to play the right way they're not going to be the most humble people in the world.

So what do you guys think of the trade?

Seems like the Cavs got a pretty good haul for a guy who didn't want to play for them anymore. Think it depends on how healthy IT actually is when he comes back next season.

Probably helps the Celts to, who lets face it, were taking a step backwards without having Bradley anymore to cover up some of IT's "short"comings.

Do the Celts have anybody to step in and take Crowders role?

I predict that Irving might lead the league in scoring, and that the Celts don't go deep in the playoffs.

The Celtics DON'T Need Kyrie to Lead the League in Scoring...

They Picked Up Gordon Hayward in Free Agency, who's a 20ppg Scorer. They Also Drafted Jason Tatum, who Should EASILY Be Good for 15-18 per, as a Rookie...

Jalen Brown Should have a Higher Scoring Impact Too...Not to Mention Al Horford Being a 15ppg Guy...

Kyrie WILL Be the Team's Leading Scorer, but Leading the LEAGUE Won't Be Conducive to Wins...

Of Bigger Importance will Be Kyrie's Relationship w/Boston Fans...He's Been Prone to Injury 5 of his First 6 Years, and After a Trade Like THIS, that Shit Won't Fly w/Celtic Fans...

Latest news is the Cavs are ready to accept the trade for a late first round pick.

Well Neil, your boy Kyrie will finally have a chance to prove his worth. Is he indeed better than Iverson? Or is on the same level as Dame Lillard? We'll find out.

By the end of the season, they'll be no doubt remaining that John Wall is the best PG in the East.

prove his worth? :D the kid hit the game winning shot in game seven of the nba finals. he had one of the greatest offensive performances in finals history facing elimination in game 5 on the road shooting 17-24.

boston is going to be a powerhouse. great deal. if irving were under contract for 4 or 5 more seasons instead of 2 then theres no way cleveland would have done it. the thing is, boston has pieces to where it is enticing for him to re-up after the end of 2018-2019 season.
