Yeah if a Canelo victory by KO is gonna occur, he'd have to do it early. Otherwise Norris will just outbox him and give him a beating.
Sly is truly delusional about Canelo's power. Picking him to stop a prime Margarito when he couldn't even wobble a faded, fragile Cotto despite hitting him with his best bombs.
Canelo seemed more powerful in his early days, but after an old, way faded Mosley went the distance despite taking everything but the kitchen sink, I immediately had serious doubts and questions about Canelo's power... And I still do. I mean, I've seen people (Mainly casuals) who have said he would beat the likes of Leonard, Hearns, Benitez, McCallum, Trinidad, Jackson, Norris, etc. As I've said before, I don't even believe he would beat Vargas. I'd pick Reid to decision him clearly, and I had him losing to Lara.
I think Canelo fools people because his punches LOOK and SOUND like hydro bombs, but just don't have devastating effect. Which proves that appearances mean nothing. Foreman looked like he was tapping guys, and they went flying.
Canelo's "puncher's chance" isn't an especially good one, as he isn't really a big puncher. He has decent power. Decent power is hard enough to hurt Norris, but it's more likely that Canelo goes into a shell rather early dealing with the speed and pop of Norris landing on him, and drops a decision to Norris. Split decision: One judge has Norris 9-3, another 10-2, and another has Canelo up 7-5. This is Canelo after all. Alvarez by DQ is also always a possibility. This is Norris after all.
