  1. Two classic ´buddy´ action movies of the 80s:

Despite having Murphy and being a slight comedy, I think 48 Hours is just too dark. The first two LW films were a bit dark too but not to the level of 48. I gotta go with LW as I also find it more rewatchable these days too.

  3. Silly comparison.

  4. Okay, why?

  5. Exactly, ya cunt - you can´t answer because, as with boxing, you know fuck-all about movies.

48 Hours by a lot. I was never huge on LW.

  7. Off the top of my head, up until 48 Hrs. (which is a sub-genre), I can think of maybe Freebie and The Bean that kicked-off the whole ´buddy-cop´ type of movie.

48 Hours is leaner and harsher, with a little more comedy. But Lethal Weapon has the better action and might be the only action/comedy with better chemistry between the leads...

I'll have to rewatch LW in the next week. Been awhile since I've seen it.

Bad Boys is the most OVERRATED buddy cop movie. By far.

Lethal Weapon = One of the best action films ever
48 Hours = forgettable shit by an annoying prima donna Murphy an alcoholic Nolte.

I just re-watched LW for the first time in awhile. Yeah, this is 48 Hours easily. LW hasn't aged well.

Now rewatch 48 Hours and tell me that shit has aged any better.
I think you have to actually like both films to be able to make a fair comparison. Saying you never liked LW and than picking 48 Hours isn’t how it should be done.

LW for me and I watched these not too long ago. 48 is almost uncomfortable to watch in places as Nolte is a major cunt to Murphy throughout the film.

Murphys first appearance in this may be one of the best film debuts ever though.

  14. Bad boys was ghastly

I actually never even bothered to watch the sequel. It was a shame too because on paper at that time that was a can’t miss duo that somehow missed.

Yup! We're on the same page here. Bad Boys was shit, and the sequel was even worse. Yet a lot of dumbasses consider them classics.

48 hrs but I agree with sly, I don't feel these two are really comparable. Not exactly the same tone.

  18. The narative, structure and tone is absolutely comparable.

Which is why you get H2H's of these movies elsewhere on the Internet.

Don't sweat it Mr. Mean Mustard, it's just my opinion. I remember 48 hrs being more serious and dark while Lethal Weapon was more light hearted. I haven't seen these two in ages though but I remember really liking 48 hrs and being pretty much indifferent to Lethal weapon.
