Predator vs The Thing

Toughest one yet....Predator by a hair. But love both of 'em.

 

Haven't seen The Thing, but Predator.

 

I'd go with Predator also, even though The Thing has a better ending.

The Thing is darker and more gritty, but Predator is more rewatchable.

 

Both are awesome but I think the Thing is the better film. Also Predator is on that list of films I’ve seen too many times and can no longer watch. I’m not even sure these should be compared because Predator is an action film with hints of horror/thriller elements while Thing is a straight drama horror.

 

The movies are incomparable. The Thing is a horror movie and Predator is an action movie.

The thing is one of those proper movie buff's movies. I actually haven't seen it in ages so I don't really wanna vote.

 

My honest opinion of The Thing is that it's very underrated by casuals and very overrated by movie buffs.

The Thing is a better film but Predator is far more fun and probably more rewatchable. I just loved the premise of the Thing and it has an excellent ending.

 

Yeah, The Thing has one of the best endings in horror history.

But the rest of movie has become somewhat overrated.

 

A lot of theories about that ending. The one about Keith David drinking a Molotov wasn't something I'd picked up on.

 

I've heard all of the theories, and I don't really subsribe to them. I don't think Keith David was The Thing... I just think both men were spent and resigned to the fact that they were both gonna freeze to death, so they would just go out drinking.

 

That's how I always took it. Just an interesting take on a possibility I hadn't thought of.

 

I completely disagree. I could rewatch The Thing right now. I think a better versus for it should have been Alien. In fact, palm slap to the forehead better.

 

See, that's when The Thing starts to get overrated. It doesn't hold a candle to Alien.

 

Both films did the dread thing very well. Alien is better in my estimation but I'd be more likely to watch The Thing. Maybe because Alien is oversaturated.

 

Alien is almost 40 years old and it's still visually ASTOUNDING.

 

Yeah that's not what I meant. I meant Alien as a franchise has been done to death and I'm a bit tired of it. The Thing is still niche and I'd be more likely to watch it over Alien right now.

 

So is the Thing. You got to quit passing off your opinions as fact. Scarface is not a shit film and The Thing hasn’t become overrated.

Name another horrible film quoted and sampled as much as Scarface is? Like I told you both, it just went over your heads and you’d be wise to give it another watch. It’s beloved by millions and is a cult icon.
