I watched it on Sunday night for about the 10,000th time. It's still far and away the best cop action movie ever made.

The Jackal probably isn't even a top 50 action movie of the 90s, let alone all time.

I don't remember anything about the characters in The Jackal. Obviously, I remember it starred Willis, Gere, and Poitier, but that's it. All I remember is the scene when Willis kills that annoying piece of shit Jack Black.

Do you honestly believe that the Jackal was a better villain than Hans fucking Gruber??? Aka, one of the most iconic villains in movie history.

As Noble said, Die Hard created that template effectively: the lone wolf in hiding taking down a team of bad men. Maybe I need to watch it again because even as I'm typing this I'm remembering how enjoyable it was. But because it created the template, because it was the first...it tends to be overrated...much like Ray Robinson is overrated because he started the speedy slick master boxing style of fighting.

Thanks for the credit but that was Feebles.

Can't forgive you for the Sugar Ray slapdown though. That's fucked up!

Just goes to show that even in a thread about Speed vs Die Hard, Sly's number one agenda is "Protect Floyd."
