This isn't close. It's KK. NRNS is hilariously bad and I remember being a fun watch as a kid but I bet it sucks a fat one if watched now.

  2. Agreed. Great action but terrible acting.

Have you guys watched KK lately?

That movie was the shit when I was a kid, but it was about a year ago when it came on TV and I tried to watch it... it's dated as ALL FUCK now. To the point where it's comically bad.

I don't doubt it but NRNS would be worse.

  5. I disagree. I love that film even to this day.

No retread No surrender was so bad even upon first viewing when it came out on VHS rental that midway through it I fast forward to the last fight scene, which was decent but unrealistic. Awful film.

  7. I've never seen The Karate Kid.
The kid annoyed me, so did the little Oriental dude and I predicted (correctly) that it would date badly anyway...

I think I saw RTNS many many years ago. I don't remember it, and that's probably a good thing.

You are so culturally detached is scary.

  14. Your knowledge about ´culture´, I´ve already been there, absorbed it and then casually discarded it later.

The Karate Kid: ´an exciting, sweet-tempered, heart-warming story with one of the most interesting friendships in a long time´

Not exactly what I´m into when it comes to deadly martial arts, yeah?

This movie is less about Martial arts than about overcoming personal obstacles. Kids everywhere identified with Daniel Larusso, the bullied teen who at the end comes on top as a winner. Is a feel good film.

Yeah the martial arts definitely took a backseat.
