I don't rate Lawrence too highly.

 

But one´s really plain looking, the other looks as attractive as an unflushed toilet...and they both make shit movies.

 

But they can both do accents.

 

Accents have never been a grading system for quality acting, imo, re: Rrrrenne Zwellnegger

That´s why you rarely see male Actors doing accents.

 

Surely something that can propel an actor's/actresses' profile if done well?

Bale: he speaks the same in ever movie and also in real life - totally ost his Welsh/British accent
DeNiro: still an American accent - doesnt matter what state or region its from
Penn: still an American accent - doesnt matter what state or region its from

That´s like saying Colin Firth is brilliant at doing accents - look, he can speak like a Scouser or a Geordie.
Piss easy, that is.


Anyway, I can speak in many global accents - basically doesnt make you a great actor or actress...

 

Duvall had a Scottish accent in A Shot at Glory with Ally McCoist. Denzel had a British accent in For Queen and Country. Hanks had an Eastern European accent in the Terminal. DiCaprio and Damon both attempted South African/Afrikaans accents in Blood Diamond and Invictus respectively (with Damon doing a much better job).

Anyway, I love me some Kate Blanchett, as an actress.

Lena Headey is my current numero Uno though. She's great.

 

Accent is an accent. Same acumen. Whether it crosses national lines makes no difference. You still have to pronounce shit differently.
