    I don't give a shit about all the flack it gets from the King purists who are mad that Kubrick deviated from the novel.... Kubrick made it into a masterpiece of a film. The following list agrees with me ranking it at #1:

    The main reason why I would not place The Shining over The Exorcist or Jaws and other horror films is down to the Wendy Torrance character portrayed in the film. She is one of the most annoying characters in a film EVER! I'd actually put her in at number 1. She's weak, fragile and I just wanted to bloody throttle her every time she went off on one, screaming and whining and crying...
