    Do you enjoy:

the fights of the highest level, with most skill at display?

the fights of your personal favorite fighter?

the ones that were the most action-packed?

    the beatdowns and the shutouts?

Does anybody have the guts to admit that they like the last group the best?

    Also, give some examples

I could watch almost anything. Pure curiosity, sometimes morbid, like deaths and injuries. Old obscure fights I once saw live say back in 1997 on some shitty SKY undercard on the night of a major event. When the internet first got big I would watch stuff most guys wouldn't give the time of day. They had seen it but I had only read about it. I once read an article about how Hopkins had destroyed some major alleged threat called Joe Lipsey and I avidly searched for years till I found the clip.

I wouldn't say the Lipsey fight is even top 15 most google-tubed of Hopkins career.

Definitely with you on catching those old school domestic 90s/early 2000s fights, there were some great British fight cards back then. Speaking of that, for years I've been trying to find a video of the Bobby Vanzie-Steve Murray fight, nowhere to be found though.

I like watching a great performance

Chavez/Rosario, Whitaker/Haugen, Sanchez/Lopez, Toney/Barkley, Starling/Honeyghan, Arguello/Watt, Barrera/Hamed... I love watching a great boxer do his thing because you can really appreciate what they did

I like great action fights, two-way fights live and I will rewatch them now and then but for the most part I like watching a great display of dominance

REED Would Say he Prefers Bouts in the Order You Listed Them...

High Level, Skillful Fights Offer the Biggest Potential for SURPRISES...They're the HARDEST to Predict...For Example, NOBODY Called a 1st Round KO for Jermell Charlo Over Erickson Lubin...Just as NOBODY Imagined Powder Puff Punching Andre Ward HURTING a Legit Banger Like Sergey Kovalev...

That Being Said, REED's More Likely to REWATCH a Favorite Fighter of his Shit Kicking an Opponent....

I tend to rewatch the one sided fights/great performances a little more often. Part of that is due to the drama of a close fight is mostly lost when you know the outcome.

When there is a matchup fought at a high skill level with back and forth action you have to pay closer attention to appreciate all the nuances. A good old fashioned drubbing you can just sit back and enjoy without as much attention.

Great performances, great action fights, great KOs, but generally not sloppy fights. I like seeing high skill levels and technique shown as well.

For instance, Foreman-Lyle was a good brawl but still too sloppy for me.

I would say my most watched fights are Corrales-Castillo 1, Trinidad-Vargas, and Hopkins-Trinidad. Mayweather-Gatti is also up there which may show a little sadism on my part.

Doub watches Rocky Juarez getting jabbed 1275 times while throwing one hook per round

Thanks for all the great responses guys. This site rocks!

I am trying to figure out, why boxing remains rewatchable even after you know the result of the fight and even when you remember every round and every punch. No other sport has the same quality: we can watch highlight reels but very few would watch an entire baseball or hockey game, unless it was one where your favorite wins something big.

Also what is intriguing is that we like to rewatch even one-sided bouts when there is skill (or hellacious beating) included, even though we know they are not the 'best' fights out there

Yeah, no other sport is as re-watchable as boxing, outside of highlight reels as you said. One would NEVER re-watch an entire basketball game for example. Pointless exercise.

I do rewatch track races though...anything from 100m to 1500m.

I much prefer competitive fights in which both fighters dig deep and the winner is in doubt throughout. I do not get as excited about watching beat downs and one sided affairs.

I do like a good virtuoso performance/serious beat down. I also like to re-watch fights which ended in debatable decisions (not robberies).

Yeah. I don't find it particularly compelling to watch when a fighter easily dominates his opponent.

In a one-sided affair, watching it live there is at least a chance of a knock out. You take that away from a fight that already lacks drama?

What you're left with is the craft, the work of a great technician ...

Once you know what happened in Gatti/Ward what are you left with? A case study of courage at best but nothing aesthetic to savor

I'm saying Leonard/Hearns I, where craft from both fighters can be savored.

Gatti/Ward is not an example of a fight I like to rewatch.

That's just one example. Hagler/Duran is another I have rewatched quite a bit. Also, Sanchez/Nelson.
