IMO Cate Blanchett looks smoking hot as Hela. I have never considered Blanchett attractive (her face is kind of manly), but in that tight costume she really look hot even at her age, 48. Heck she might be the hottest looking actress in a leather costume since Michelle Pheiffer as Catwoman! Anyone else agrees with me?

This looks almost as promising as the Justice League trailer.

  10. Which do you think will win the box-office war?

  12. Sadly I'm not interested in this film, nor justice league nor Star Wars. I think I've "grown out of " these big action blockbusters overnight.

    *yawn*

Critics embargo has been lifted and this film is getting mad raving reviews! Currently standing at 98% (could go lower by the time it opens on Friday), it has a good chance to beat or match Marvel's best reviewed film: Iron-Man with 94% RT. Many critics have called 'Thor: Ragnarok" Marvel's best film to date, others just call it its funniest movie, but others less enthusiastic are calling it without a doubt Thor's best movie of the trilogy and Hemsworth best performance to date. But all agree that the movie is lots of fun and that Cate Blanchett completely steals the film and Hela ranks as Marvel's best villain to date.

  15. Happy to hear it's getting good reviews but was hoping for a dark film not a funny one. Hopefully black panther in the new year will be dark

  16. All this '95%+' ratings is pure bullshit, Pancho: a) Marvel movies never fail and b) they're always good & watchable anyway.

When was the last Marvel movie that didn't live up to the hype or expectation?
    (not including Spider-man or X-Men)

Of course it will be dark: is BLACK Panther!

Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2. I was SO disappointed with that big, noisy no-plot movie that it killed any goodwill the first film gained in my eyes for these characters. A gazillion dollars on special effects is not enough for a movie to work and that film was a gigantic convoluted mess.

  19. Okay but you're speaking personally.
Guardians II isn't that bad....I mean it's not as good as I but then all I can say is they were 'trying to hard'.

For me, the last 'failure' was Ant-Man...

What's better? DC movies or Marvel ones?

  21. Marvel.

In the same manner and disparity that Floyd Mayweather is a better boxer than Taylor Swift.

What are the highlights from each side? Notable examples?

  23. Depends if you grew up liking Marvel or DC I guess.
Marvel just seem to flow better, have more rounded characters and the cross-polination of characters in all the movies works well.

At the end of the day, even though they're just comicbook characters, Marvel seem to have been more successful in transferring that to movies that kids, men & women can relate to easier.

  24. I mean look at all the attempts to re-do or remake Superman & Batman...and they're only just getting it right...

    Disney paid critics surface again.

  26. DC comic books are better than Marvel comic books IMO. I grew up on DC characters...not superman or batman though, ironically. I only ever heard of Iron Man when the MCU started. However....MCU is much better than the DCEU to date. Much better. Overall Marvel films are better than DC films. The best DC films to date are the first two Superman Films ( with Reeve) and the Nolan Batman trilogy....those films compare with the best Marvel films but Marvel has far more top quality films than DC.

  27. Ant-Man was great.

  28. I thought it was 'okay'.
Tbh though, pre-viewing I had my doubts so I had lower expectations. ..

The majority of the reviews are out and it currently ranks at 96% RT certified fresh with 100 positive reviews vs only 4 negative. Even Joss Whedon, whose 'Justice League' opens two weeks after 'Thor: Ragnarok", has called it 'a masterpiece'.

I watched the movie. It is entertaining but no masterpiece.
