Drive appreciation thread

Sly might wanna stay away since its a Gosling movie.

Drive is a fucking fantastic movie.

Who else thinks so?

 

Yeah, really liked it.

 

I don't mind Gosling. I just don't think he's anything special.

 

I watched only 30 minutes of this film and stopped it. A film needs to hook me within 10 minutes, but I gave this one more time due to all the praise it got. Still didn't held my attention.

Gosling is far from my favorite actor. I'm talking about the movie, not the actor. Have you actually seen the movie? Not that I trust your movie judgement anyway... you think that piece of shit Man in the Iron Mask is a great film.

 

I was only messing with you anyway. Yeah I love Man in the Iron Mask...I wont lie. We all have films we love that many people would think are shit films. To this day I don't know why so many people don't seem to like that film. Perplexing.

 

That is strange.
I was hooked because of the first 10 minutes.
Thought it was going to be a modern version of The Driver (1978, Ryan O' Neil, Bruce Dern, Isabelle Adjani)
It was what followed that I downgraded it slightly.

I'd say Drive is the second best noir thriller of the last 15 years behind No Country.

I was bored throughout this film. The pause by Gosling before every line was annoying too.

I'm in the minority though so much like Lebowski, I'll have to rewatch it one day.

 

It starts slow -after 15 minutes I thought I'd bought a lemon- but that makes the change of pace in the second half more dramatic I thought

 

Oh, and I recently watched The Driver from 78. Good movie, but Drive is without question better.
