    Post Foreman Frazier probably loses.

But Joe at his best smokes AJ, no pun intended. Too much stamina and workrate for AJ.

    Here’s the thing....

People are acting like Norton would have been too big for Marciano...yet Joshua wouldn’t be too big for Frazier ? A man has to explain this to me....the size difference between Joshua and Frazier is far greater than between Marciano and Norton...in proportion or in absolute terms.

What you fail to consider is thst frazier was a much much better fighter than marciano. Hard to pick a winner in this one, gun to my head, i think id go with frazier, but i could see aj simply being too big and powerful

That's why I also added the Tyson match-up: size-wise, Frazier and Tyson aren't that dissimilar...

I'll take Frazier. Yes Joshua has the size advantage and very good power but I don't think he could use it to prevent Joe's onslaughts the way somebody like Lennox would be able to.

Please. Aj is bigger and stronger and tougher and more powerful than James Ellis and Bob Foster (and Oscar Bonavena). Aj destroys that tiny one trick pony.

Whyte hurt AJ with body shots... Imagine Frazier's body shots doing the damage..

Good lord this reasoning style is annoying.

Not puerto, he is a good guy, nor even picking Frazier, as that can be argued.

But to pick a single moment from one fight and compare that to the mental image of the other fighter

By shit you obviously mean suspect stamina, sometimes sloppy punches and getting hit while attacking? Sounds like George Foreman

Yeah it's where it gets annoying. There's no issue with picking Frazier, especially at this point, but Joshua is clearly not shit.

    The styles favor Frazier.

Joe is quicker, has better defense, and he would make AJ fight at a pace that he's not used to.

It's very UNLIKELY that AJ can bomb out Frazier. He doesn't possess Foreman's power. He'd have to grind down Frazier and in a war of attrition, I think Joe is more built for the long haul of a gruelif fight.

He isn't by today's standards of 'superior affletik skillz, innit bro' Boxing but I'd stack any top heavyweight of the last 50 years to unravel Joshua fairly easily:
Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, Tyson, Bowe, Lewis, Holyfield, Klitschkos...

I think at this stage, Joshua does better against your Ellis/Bugner/Norton/Cooney/Dokes/Ruddock/Bruno/Tucker/Golota/Moorer's of the division

I'd pick Ali, Tyson, 70's Foreman, Lewis, Holmes over him without question. Partly quality, partly styles.

I think people will favour Bowe (who he most closely resembles imo), Holyfield, Frazier and the like over him, which is fair enough as they've obviously proven a lot more. I personally think time will prove that he will be on that level, PROVIDED he has the opposition in his era to accurately gauge him.

He won't. All fighters now and ever after are crap by default if they ever receive a punch

George could nuke scrubs in 1-2 rounds, had great ring generalship, had a howitzer uppercut, had a chin.

Joshua doesn't have these and probably never will

Joshua has KOed all but four of his opponents under three, has only lost more than one round against one opponent and has been down once. He knocks his opponents out with wrong punches though I give you that

Joshua seems a little shaky of chin and his stamina isn’t great but he seems to be an offensive powerhouse and we’ve seen him deal with adversity before. He’s a good fighter. I wouldn’t put him on the level of an Ali, Holmes, Tyson or Holyfield...but he beats the likes of Frazier and Norton just on sheer size and strength alone

Joshua isn't particularly good, he really isn't. I'd favor him over Wilder, but that's only because Wilder is even worse.

You and X should go to your default settings and click the 'modern day is shit' box off.

After that you'll notice that Takam is not THAT much worse than Peralta

AJ could get better with time, but his defense, chin, and stamina are a bit shaky and against some of the better heavies, that would be a problem.
