Would Be Interesting to See What Happens when Frazier Lands a Left Hook, but it'd Be EQUALLY Interesting to See What Happens When Joshua Lands an Uppercut... Joshua Lacks Foreman's Sheer 1-Shot Power, But he THROWS Faaaaaaaaaaaaar More Punches and his Arsenal of Punches is More Varied... To Think Joshua Has NO Chance is Some "Good Ol' Days" Colored BULLSHIT... REED
He's Got Bruno's BODYTYPE for Sure, But There's Traces of Foreman in HOW Joshua Operates... Joshua's More AFFLETIC than Either of Them Though... What REED Likes about Joshua is he Really DOESN'T Think he's Got it All Figured Out...Every Fight he Shows NEW Wrinkles...Sure, his Defense is Subpar and his Chin Remains a Question, but Joshua's NEVER Parried Shots as Well as he Did Last Week vs. Takam... He Fights VERY Well in the Pocket Also, for a Man of his Size...How Many 6'6 Guys Jab to the BODY of a Shorter Opponent???... McCracken's Doing QUALITY Work with Joshua and it's a Shame More Can't Sit Back and Just ENJOY the Natural Progression of his Career...Boxing Fans are a Notoriously MISERABLE Lot Though... REED
Watch how Johusa"s in-fighting or his short punches: he can't do it and it's very reminiscent of Bruno. Especially Bruno in the two fights he had vs Tyson
Overrated more like. He beat a rusty past prime Ali...ONCE out of three fights. Before that he feasted on Ellis, Foster and some other no hopers. Dropped twice by Bonavena in their first fight and went the distance with him in the rematch. Ali in just his second fight after a forced 3 year retirement managed to stop the said Bonavena. Did Frazier fight Liston, Shavers, Lyle, Norton, Holmes, Young, Terrell? Who did this left hooker beat besides a rusty Ali?
Nonsense. Ali was destroyed by a culmination of punishment in fights late in his career against the likes of Shavers, Lyle, Norton, Spinks and yes...Frazier.
Unproven booolsheeet. He fought on for 5 years after manila and got pounded from pillar to post. You can't pinpoint it to any one fight.
This... Short of Possessing Post-Fight Cat-Scans There's NOfuckingWAY of Pinpointing Ali-Frazier III As the Line of Demarcation... REED
Again, I think RIGHT NOW, Frazier beats AJ. But I do agree with REED about Joshua's progression. He's showing better skills in every fight, offensively. His defense will probably never be a strong suit, though. And he does appear to have a stamina issue due to his muscular build. And those things play a role in me hesitating to pick him over a quality heavyweight like Joe Frazier who is so underrated it's disgusting. AJ is getting better and better, though. I would pick him over 91 Holyfield, whom I feel just gets hit way too much to beat AJ.
It's a comparison I've made more than once. He even looks a lot like Bruno, in build, style, everything really. That's not a terrible thing. Bruno was a good fighter and held his own against some top level comp. But that's where I put AJ, too. MTF
Before I knew the thread I knew how this one would play out. Joe Frazier is practically a fucking bum, according to usual suspects on this forum. I can see how Joshua wins. He can throw a mean uppercut, and the one which cut Wald in half would give Frazier kittens. But that punch was something of an anomaly thus far - how many other fight-ending uppercuts has Joshua ever thrown? Thats the money punch against Joe; it counteracts his bobbing, waist-high defence completely. IF, and it is a big IF, AJ throws them constantly, and early, it is conceivable that he stops Frazier fairly early. If he doesn't, he'll need one of his promoter's 'special referees' to save him from a brutal stoppage, because by the time this one gets to the 8th, and Frazier is still sat on his chest, throwing a hundred left hooks to body and head while AJ is blowing out of his arse and looking for a breather, he'll find himself in big trouble IMO. MTF
Totally agree with everything except the uppercut: I was looking for it vs. Takam and must have missed it cos Joshua's knees were bent at about 65-70° in order to enable him to fight at Takem's level...looked awkward and ungainly.
I don’t think you guys realize how much smaller Frazier is to Joshua. Pus joshua throws a lot of punches like a young foreman and Joshua hits very hard indeed. Joe was no Marvis but he was no Ali either in the chin department.
Foreman at 6'3" and 220lb had significantly more power of a Joshua at 6'5" and 250lb. Plus, Joshua has basic footwork, serviceable ring-generalship, doesn't fight to his height, has a range-finder jab Joshua would never....like NEVER engage Frazier in any kind of slugfest. Frazier slows Joshua down like molasses under his feet, starts to smoke around Rd4 and makes AJ squeal, yes, squeal in pain from crushing bread-basket bodyshots around Rd8
Joshua is nothing like 70s George. Stop over rating this guy just because he beat up Fury's leftovers. Believe it or not, young Foreman was actually more athletic than Joshua''s stiff ass.
'It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog' ....and vs Frazier's American pitbull, you have Joshua's St. Bernard ...
The only thing comical was this guy's grasp of boxing. But shouldn't expect much outta a dude who claimed that Mamadou Thiam would beat Mosley.
