Not an easy thing to achieve. We're not talking about annihilating the likes of Dave Boy Greene, Caveman Lee, Davey Moore or Juan Domingo Roldan....noooooo....we're talking about the accomplishments of the VERY ELITE; the guys that can pull out virtuoso performances against formerly undefeated titlists/champions. That's a very exclusive club...and it takes more than just a famous name to pull that off. That takes unquestioned all time great ring intelligence and physical talent. I'm not just talking beating them...I'm talking utter domination.

    Here are some examples:

    Jones-Toney
    Calzaghe-Lacy
    Hopkins-Trinidad
    Mayweather-Corrales
    Tyson-Spinks

    Gimme some more...

lol, wtf? You say you're not talking about average champs, but the VERY ELITE, then mention Jeff Lacy?

Lazy was horrible, he was pretty fucking far from very elite.

This thread isn't about subjective standards of ability...it's an objective standard: Formerly undefeated titlist/champion. I'm deliberately removing subjectivity from the criteria.

Sly has a very weird obsession with Calzaghe-Lacy.

Any fight that's considered 50-50 going in, with two undefeated champions, and ends up being a whitewash is fascinating.

Davey Moore was undefeated though and surely better than Lacy :D

TBH Sly, I would say fighters who were able to defeat elite champions with ease would be better. Not necessarily undefeated.

You get fighters that are scrubby as like Lacy who are somehow undefeated, but then elite fighters like Donaire who was technically not undefeated (lost his 2nd pro fight).

If Donaire was undefeated that would be a perfect example, Gondo absolutely schooled him, made him look like an amateur.

At the time people seemed to think that “left hook Lacy” was the real deal. All manner of guys on this site picked him to beat Calzaghe....and not just beat him but beat him easily. Calzaghe May have made Davey Moore look just as inept, who knows?

That’s why “undefeated” on its own wasn’t the criteria...fighter has to be undefeated AND a champion/Titlist to qualify.

It is subjective because you imply Lacy is better than Moore, Green, etc which is questionable at best.

At last someone else aside from me sees Jeff Lacy for what he actually was.

Joe: "alright Dad, how do I beat this boyo?"
Enzo: "come on Joe bach, his nickname is 'left-hook' "

    No more clues.

That fight was as unimpressive as Lewis using his height & reach to give Tua a 'Boxingology' lesson.

    Know what I mean, Sly?

    Disturbingly so.
I distinctly remember watching that fight and it was all very "so what? Lacy's a one-trick pony"

SKY Sports were looking to really push Calzaghe as their prime fighter and as he'd done SHIT up to that point, his win over Lacy was milked for all its worth.

The problem with Sly is he's only seen like 20 fights in history.

Hence why his answer for EVERYTHING is "Mayweather-Corrales and Calzaghe-Lacy."

Nah...I've watched 50 fights. I've only watched fights that involve Mayweather.

Actually now that I think about it....I may change my username to Destruction and Mayweather.

In all seriousness though, why don't you guys just stick to the parameters of the fucking topic. How many fighters have dominated undefeated champions?

    Jimmy Paul vs Harry Arroyo.

Arroyo came in an undefeated, and highly regarded champion, and Paul gave him a masterclass ass whuppin for 15 rounds to take his belt.

Oh BTW, I just read your statement on Davey Moore.... what a tard, uninformed statement. Davey Moore was EASILY better than Jeff Lacy.

No question. Duran ruined him so it's hard to judge post Duran, but he was a good skilled fighter, definitely better than Lacy.

Mayorga defeated the undefeated Andrew Lewis for the WBA title. I guess Mayorga is a member of this VERY ELITE. Lol.

I'm not disputing that. Was Davey Moore an undefeated champion at the time he fought Duran? That's the only question here.
