Duran - Moore is actually one of the very best examples. Moore was of course an undefeated champion, and Duran was about a 3-1 underdog, fighting 3 divisions above his natural weight.

Yet he gave Moore an absolutely brutal and savage beating, even propping him up on the ropes to continue laying on the punishment.

But was it as impressive as the master Joe slapping and turning Lacy for 12 rounds????

There's so many examples of less than stellar fighters doing this, it is almost a pointless distinction.

That '0' is everything to a Mayweather groupie.

Jones didn't 'annihilated' Toney. He beat him convincingly, but Toney was game.

Hopkins schooled Trinidad and then stopped him. Not an annihilation in my book. Was more an embarrassment than a destruction.

    My picks here are:

Mike McCallum vs Julian Jackson - the Body Snatcher systematically chopped down Jackson's body until the stoppage

It was. Froch was a pretty heavy betting underdog going into that fight and he basically brutalised Bute. In a career of excellent performances, that fight is Froch's signature win. He beat the living shit out of Bute, from first bell to the second Bute near lost his last remaining senses.

Indeed. I was (and still am) a huge Froch fight and always hated Bute, and while I picked Froch to win, I tought it would be by controversial decision. Nobody saw it coming. He made Bute look like a complete joke of a fighter. And Unlike Lacy, Bute showed he was a top fighter afterwards by giving hell to both Degale and Jack

Can't deny that either, I thought Froch was going to get tonked in that one. In fact, that is legit the most wrong I've been about a fight ever, all credit to him.

That one doesn't fit. Julian Jackson was challenging for McCallum's title. He wasn't a champion until he beat Buster Drayton a couple of years later. That said it's a war that people forget. I always thought that the stoppage was a bit too early but McCallum was killing him to the body and sneaking in those counter hooks upstairs.

One that I always enjoyed was Gianfranco Rosi dropping and dominating Darrin Van Horn to take his title.
