I haven't watched it but based on what Valera showed vs barrera he's gotta be the best guy bivol has fought

If it's Any Consolation, HBO Will Air Orlando Salido vs Miguel Beltran the Same Night as Lomachenko vs Rigondeaux...

I hope Bivol vs Barrera can be made soon. An impressive win over Barrera would make a huge statement for Bivol.

My guess is kova/barrera is more likely to occur than bivol/barrera.

Damn, I think it was some kind of joke at first, but you are right. ESPN is now offering better matchup than HBO

More Importantly, HBO Should Be Concerned about Top Rank Putting the BEST Fighter in their Stable on ESPN, for a 2nd Consecutive Bout...

In Fact, By the Time Lomachenko vs. Rigondeaux Happens Top Rank Will Have Showcased Pacquiao, Crawford (Unifying All 4 Recognized Belts) and Loma 2wice, on ESPN...

Top Rank's Basically Kick Starting their OWN Version of Al Haymon's PBC, Right Under HBO's Noses...HBO's Having to SETTLE for the Salido-Beltran Fight, just to Stay SOMEWHAT in the Mix...

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I hate huge fights on ESPN. Just doesn't have the same luster as having them on HBO/Showtime.

I wish Loma-Rigo was on HBO.

I agree. Plus, there are commercials. Plus, there is the chance for delays.

REED's PREFERRED Medium is HBO/Showtime Also...

But REED's Old Enough to REMEMBER When You Didn't HAVE to Have Movie Channels to Watch the Higher Profile Fights...Also, ESPN has a LENGTHY, if Not Historic, Relationship w/Boxing...

REED Focuses on the Fact There's MORE Televised Boxing Matches Than There's Been in QUITE Some Time, Rather than WHAT Network is Broadcasting...

REED GETS What You're Saying Though...Lomachenko vs. Rigondeaux Seems CHEAPENED a Bit for Sure...

If Lomachenko vs. Rigondeaux is Delayed in ANY Way, ESPN Should Not Only Be Ashamed, They Should Issue RECURRING Apologies on Sportscenter, for the Ensuing 7 Days, Minimum...

It would hAve to be a serious delay to cause fans to miss any of the main event. I'm sure there is an undercard or two. Not only that if it gets preempted they will still show it live on espn 2 or espn news

The Program Itself SHOULDN'T Be Delayed or Pre-Empted @ All...

ESPN LOST Many Viewers Who were Otherwise TRYING to See the Lomachencko vs Marriaga Card, Yet Weren't Learned Enough to KNOW the Other ESPN Channels Would Carry It...

Whatever Network you ADVERTISE an Event to Be Held On is the Channel Said Event SHOULD Be Held On...

    Period...

I agree. It's bad for the growth of the sport of boxing. But the bottom line for me is I'll get to see the fight card and particularly the main event in its entirety so it's not a big deal that it's on espn instead of hbo

It's not the 80s anymore, where people with HBO were in the minority. The majority of Americans have HBO, if not Showtime. I don't really see having this matchup on bullshit ass ESPN giving the matchup more exposure. If anything, I believe it would have generated higher ratings on HBO.

I get what you're saying, but ESPN is a horrible network nowadays... not just for boxing... their NBA telecasts are shit too.

Looks like Bivol-Barrera may in fact be next for 2018. BIG test for Bivol and a great matchup.

The four best light heavys are all Russian/Ukrainian - Kov, Bivol, Gvozdyk, and Beterbiev.
