Almost every mafia historian and law enforcement said Richard Kulinski was completely full of shit. He had very loose connections, at best, to Roy Demeo.

In ‘Phantom Punch’ with Ving Rhames, Sonny Liston’s manager is ordered by the mob to place a bet on Floyd Patterson, as Liston is to take a dive. His manager decides that Liston will win, so he doesn’t tell Liston to tank it, and of course Liston wins. The Mob is ready to kill his manager until he tell them that he placed their money on Liston and won them money.

Liston gets distracted in training for Ali because he is banging his manager’s girlfriend. Eventually years later, his manager finds out, so in revenge he rapes her and does not tell Sonny that he has orders from above to go in the tank. Sonny wins a fight, so the Mob poisons him as revenge and makes it look like an overdose

Interesting. A documentary that is total bullshit. Guess there are many of these. So why was the guy in prison where he was interviewed? I'd say hitmen connections tend to be, "loose," no?

President Clinton & Prime Minister Blair got involved with that one...

It doesn't surprise me at all. This idea of a "mafia hitman" is largely a product of television and movies. Sure sometimes the mob will contract out hits, but 95% of the homicides they commit (especially against fellow mobsters) are done in party.
