Can you imagine: Micheal Bay directing 'Avatar' with James Cameron producing....

There's a lot of older, more obscure films that are terrible, like Scream and Scream again...

Of the more recent, Hollywood blockbuster types that absolutely sucked, the Dark Knight is the obvious choice.

I always felt the biggest reason Pearl Harbor failed is because it appears Bay tried to use the same successful formula that made Titanic a hit. Take a terrible disaster, add beautiful action sequences and wrap it all around a big sweaty suffocating love story.

That love story is the biggest reason PH fails as a film.

When your method is to use a formula rather than natural technique and your main goal is to manufacture the biggest hit rather than tell the best story, the entire creative process is impure and it’s reflected in the writing, acting, and the overall piece of shit final product.

Yup. You nailed there. I did like PH even though could see its obvious titanic-wannabe by the the numbers rip-off. But it had its moments.

Titanic worked and PH didn't because:

    1. James Cameron has 100x more talent than Bay.

    2. Titanic's love angle was at least well acted and compelling because it had quality actors. Leo, Kate Winslet, and Billy Zane are ten fucking light years better than Ben Affleck, Josh Harnett, and whoever that bitch they were fighting over was.

My God Harnett was a horrible actor. Glad he's no longer relevant.

Pearl Harbor was boring as hell. I can't bring myself to watch the whole thing because it's just not compelling at all.

Daredevil with Ben Affleck was awful, as well.

Was that Affleck’s fault or the writer and director’s?
I disagree with point number 2. I think if you switch all those actors into the opposing film that Titanic would have still been a better film and Pearl Harbor still would have been a shit film. The difference is PH would have made more due to the Leo heart throb factor. Overall -and as with most films that suck- the writing, direction and pacing was why PH was such a terrible film.

Another one of your random-but-obvious-trolling attempts.

At least put some thought and effort into it.

    Honestly.

Man of Steel wasn't great, but it certainly doesn't rank among the worst all time movies. Hell, it was better than Batman V Superman.... by a lot, actually.

Superman IV on the other hand....

I'd say all 3. The acting wasn't convincing and the story just dragged for me.

I think Hut might mean the horrendously bad Superman Returns with Kevin 'GayBoyFiddler' Spacey as Lex Luthor and Somebody Else as Superman...

Ben Affleck is a poor actor and his cranium is oversized

He does have some talent for directing though, I think

Trolling? The Batman movie was fucking terrible.

I'm sorry if I hurt you with my words, but it is what it is. Every time Batman spoke in his ridiculous voice I couldn't stop laughing.

Yeah his voice is fockin dogshit...but as a movie in its entirety...the worst eva????
It's harshest critics didn't go that far...

That's like some dumb cunt saying 'Flash' is Queen's greatest album or John Bonham being vastly overrated because of his big mic'd-up drum-sound and less-talented-than-Keith-Moon variable.

So when you say 'obviously', you're either stupid, misinformed or just trolling.

    So which is it, palooka?

Heath Ledger was superb in that film... I hate comic book movies and I watched it because I wanted to shut up a friend of mine who kept raving about Ledger in the film... I went into it with a dismissive attitude, ready to rip it to shreds and yes in every other respect it was a typical silly comic book film but he was absolutely fucking great in it and made the film totally watchable for me... no film with a performance of that quality could ever come within a million miles if being "bad" let alone one of "the worst"

Nobody rips on comic book films here anywhere near as much as I do

It was intensely shite. That it had more going for it, a bigger budget, etc than films widely considered 'worse' makes its shiteness more annoying to me. Superman 4 was terrible because it was made on a shoestring, used an amateur sfx team, shot in Milton keynes(!) and basically a hobbled together vanity project of Reeves. It should have been shite and was. This had none of those handicaps yet the terrible choices and terrible taste of all the lavishly paid and resourced idiots making it from top to bottom contrived to make it at least as unwatchable.

I find the voice complaints people make annoying and unnecessary. So it sounds stupid. It was a necessary and smart move for Batman to alter his voice so people wouldn’t walk away thinking “man that guy talks and sounds just like Bruce Wayne”.

I think they even took it a step further with the new Batman by having him use technology within his suit to alter his voice which admittedly sounds a lot better than doing a DMX impersonation.

I think Ben has improved as an actor. Not to say he's become an elite actor, GOD NO, but he's certainly better now than he was late 90s/early 00s.

He's gone from poor to mediocre.

Nah, he is talking about 1987 Superman IV: The Quest for Peace which was produced not by WB, but by the Golan-Globus Cannon Group using a Roger Corman-like shoestring budget. It was so bad I always try to forget that movie was ever made. 'Superman Returns' is a masterpiece in comparison.

At least that was kinda funny-bad. I literally turned man of steel off during that seemingly interminable cgi fight scene. Total toilet.

SHit sorry - I meant man of steel ( edited). The one with Shannon as zod. Superman returns was merely totally mediocre and forgettable
