Who is it? Gatti has to be up there. Again this is not a list of greatest fighters ever merely one of fighters who have gone the furthest with the least D. Hamed would be another.

I think Double nailed it. I'd say Chico as well. Corrales was one of the best offensive fighters of the past 25 years... but his defense was truly terrible.

Guys like Gatti and Rios shouldn't be mentioned here because they were never elite level. Corrales was.

 

I say corrales too...but I nominate McClellan.

 

Actually... you might have really nailed it. I forgot about G-man.

McCllelan's defense was worse than Chico's. At least Chico was decent at blocking/parrying. McClellan took EVERYTHING flush.

I think he's the winner.

 

Mayorga. Undisputed welterweight champ who couldn't block nor slip a punch and whose only defense was aggression

 

I don't think Mayo qualifies because he was never really considered elite level, despite beating Forrest.

Spinks schooled him for Christ sake.

 

After beating Forrest he was top-10 in every p4p list so he qualifies. Also his defense was even worse than the ones mentioned here

As far as true all time greats go... Pryor was certainly no defensive wiz.

Was the first name that came to my mind, too. He was like a sloth with boxing gloves on and got hit flush a zillion times a fight.

Taylor basically punched him round the ring for five rounds. Pascal hit him with about a hundred flush power shots - it was Froch taking all those punches that earned him his 'iron chin' reputation. Kessler hit him with loads of punches too, especially in the first fight and the late rounds of the second. Direll hit Froch pretty much every time (about five) that he decided he wanted to actually have a fight.
