We are being discriminated! The closest we had as a superhero is a freaking drug dealer Al Pacino as Scarface!!!

Doesn't count even though he is cool.

I kinda figured... so there definitely isn't one

That's kind of amazing to me

  4. So what does a Latino superhero look like? Speaks Spanish all the time? Wears a sombrero? Has black greasy hair, wide nose and olive skin? Received his superpowers by a meteorite that crash landed in Paraguay?

You sound weirdly hostile to the idea

Are all black peoples a homogenous entity? Clearly not

  6. I’m not hostile, it just doesn’t make sense.

Why stop at Latino? What about a European superhero? Lol

All black people are black people. Latino isn’t a race

Actual numbers in and 'Black Panther' did even better than reported yesterday: $201.7 million in three days and $247 million in its first four days. I predicted it was going to make over $200 million. Damn, I am good at this!!!

Latinos are clearly unique though ... it's a melting pot of Spaniards, Portuguese, Various native peoples, Africans etc ...

what is Ruben Olivares? A white guy? Looks a hell of a lot more like an Aztec to me

  9. Sure but Brazil, Colombia, Cuba etc are filled with people that are whiter than snow. So what would Latino superhero even mean? Lol

But even those people would be offended if you called them Spaniard or Portuguese

The point here is that surely there are enough large Latino groups that it seems rather amazing none has inspired a super hero

  12. Is Jessica Alba considered Latino? If so, she was Invisible Woman in Fantastic 4

  13. Perhaps Rosie Perez should play the role of Supergirl if it hits the big screen?

    She is hot.
Do you watch the Supergirl series?

I dont know why Zorro wouldnt be. He is a comic book hero.

I see both sides tho. Hispanic is not a race. And not all Hispanics have the same culture.

I would be curious to see what they could come up with.

BTW, saw this movie and loved it. I am so happy it went away from the Marvel formula. The soundtrack was terrific. "a King's Sunset" is an epic score.

She's like 90 different things including IRISH!

Whatever she is, she is a goddess

I thought Zorro was more like a traditional folk hero ... I don't believe he originated in comic books

I mean not comics, but pretty much the same concept. Just before the genre i guess.

Zorro (Spanish for "fox") is a fictional character created in 1919 by American pulp writer Johnston McCulley, and appearing in works set in the Pueblo of Los Angeles during the era of Spanish California (1769–1821). He is typically portrayed as a dashing masked vigilante who defends the commoners and indigenous peoples of California against corrupt and tyrannical officials and other villains. His signature all-black costume includes a cape, a hat known as sombrero cordobés, and a mask that covers the upper part of his face.

He doesn't have powers though... he's more like Robin Hood

    Batman doesnt have powers either.

  23. Apparently it’s possible to have a real life superhero.

Some people have a condition where it’s very hard to break their bones.

Others have a condition where they don’t feel pain

Others have an unusual condition where they grow muscle and strength at an alarming rate

Others have huge hearts and almost unending stamina

Some have ridiculous reflexes and speed

Chances of someone having all those conditions combined is almost infinitesimal (still far greater odds than life starting without a creator though) but it’s theoretically possible to have all of that combined in one man and of it happened that man would be captain America!!!

She dyed her hair blonde and used blue contact lenses to portray a Caucasian character.

Batman has gadgets and shit. Zorro is just a masked swordsman.

"Went away from the Marvel formula..." What are you talking about? This film follows the exact same formula of every solo origins films which I already discussed with Sly here.
From the soundtrack I love the 'Wakanda' theme: majestic, invoking myth and power. Awesome score!
