53 year old Perez is way past her prime and hasn't done shit in decades. Let a younger actress shine and Perez can play her mom!

    Some recommendations are:
    Colombian Catalina Sandino Moreno
    [IMG]

    Genesis Rodriguez (Venezuelan)

    Dania Ramirez (Dominican)

    Blanca Soto (Mexican)

    Maite Perroni (Mexican)

Or we can just cast a familiar face: half Boricua Victoria Justice

It was nothing like marvel origin movies in the past.

Those Antonio Banderas movies were so removed from the original Zorro that it made the Tom Cruise 'The Mummy' remake seen like a faithful adaptation of the Boris Karloff film.

Because of the actors race, African setting and music? Remove those superficial elements and you got your typical competent Marvel origins film.

Nah because it focused on the origin and actually stayed in the place of origin throughout the whole movie. It was a wonderful experience.

The Batman movies are also far removed from the original.

And that is why Tim Burton's 'Batman' is still the best!

Racists are now making up stories about white people being attacked by black people in the cinemas. These are some reactions to them:

"Tried to see BLACK PANTHER and a group of African-American teens said it wasn’t for me before pushing a grand piano off the roof of the theater onto me, leaving me with canaries circling my head and piano keys for teeth"

    Patrick Monahan on Twitter

"I once went to a screening of "Ant-Man" and was accosted by a group of young ants. "You don't belong here!" they chittered in their ant-language. Then they devoured the picnic lunch I'd so painstakingly prepared."

    Reed Jackson on Twitter

A not so surprising ignorant comment. I fully expect a thread dedicated to nominating Steven from Django as your next superhero.

    You should be ashamed.

As expected Black Panther easily claimed the #1 spot at the box office in its second weekend. What is impressive is with how much it accomplished that. T'Challa and friends took an amazing $108 million becoming the second biggest second weekend grosser of all time just behind The Force Awakens. The film has also reached $400 million domestically in just 10 days coming to a tie withh 'Jurassic World' as the second fastest to reach that amount. Internationally the film is doing well, but as expected, less than domestically with $304 million. So far the film has made $704 million worldwide and depending on how well is received in Japan and more importantly in China, it could reach $1 billion.

And as it happens with every popular film at this stage, some backlash has surfaced tying the movie poster with the radical Black Panthers iconic photo.

It is but you wouldn't like it since it's a superhero flick and you're a snob!

It's a 7/10 which on my proper scale of scoring means 'Good'.

Still not sure I'll bother with it. I'm mean it's a superhero movie at the end of the day.

I admit I am moved by Mr. REED's testimony regarding the psychological, emotional overtones of the experience as it relates to being a black person. That kind of cultural cache makes me think I ought to set aside a couple of hours of my time at some juncture. I mean how often do you hear anything like that about a movie?

Ant-Man - dealt with issues about the psychological, emotional overtones of the experience as it relates to being the size of an ant.
Spider-Man - dealt with issues about the psychological, emotional overtones of the experience as it relates to having the physical attirubutes of a spider.
The Incredible Hulk - dealt with issues about the extreme psychological, emotional and physical overtones of the experience as it relates to being a 7´ tall, 1,000lb, insane-strength, green-skinned behemoth capable of destroying anything in its path.

    etc, etc

Word only difference is that in day to day life there are no hulks, insect sized men or people with arachnid abilities

Black Panther is now the third highest grossing Marvel Film domestically. Sometime this week will beat "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" for the second spot. It also surpassed 'Wonder Woman' total domestic numbers. This month will open in China and Japan. It will be interesting to see how this film performs in those two markets were historically films with black leads have performed very poorly, but Marvel films do okay.

Who happens to be the weakest character in a sub-par DC movie.
