Looking back at Kostya Tszyu... maybe he wasn't that good

Has there ever been a case where a fighter is able to continue after a double knockdown?

Sorry this is ludicrous... guy gets up, makes drunk guy gestures and crashes face first the fight is getting stopped by every competent referee on earth

I never got why Tackie was considered such a threat to Tszyu at the time. The guy was awful, he just had a good punch. He was getting outclassed by Garcia before landing a hail Mary. Same thing as Arthur Abraham, I can't rate guys who give up rounds so easily.

Judah showed Nady that he was alright right after he rose though. I heard he said 'Shall you share the next dance'

Good hard right hand, that was about it.

The guy barely touched Tszyu at all.

Only a shitty ref would have waived the fight (which nady was). A good ref would have counted to 8 and see the state of judah at the moment, and he would have been fine to continue.

As i said before, it was obvious that it was immaturity that made judah try to rise so fast. If he only took a few more seconds, his legs would have been steady. Judah is hard to defend cause hes a clown and an unlikable guy, but he got screwed in that fight

It's so "obvious" that others are making jokes about it

Still waiting for an example of a ref saying "you know what? you fell down twice from one punch but I think this needs to continue"

As you said, holmes snipes was one.

But its irrelevant, since there is no rules that say you are koed if you fall two times from a punch

100% agreed, I wouldn't oppose Nady decision if he had judged Judah wasn't fit to continue after giving him the mandatory 8 count. But in this situation, it was obvious Nady panicked as there was 0 benefit in stopping the fight right at this moment (Judah clearly wasn't in a state that required immediate medical assistance)

Hard to think of any clear case, but to be honest, these are really rare occurrence and signify the ''receiving'' fighter is really fucked. I thought Seals-Edwin Rodriguez was on such example but Rodriguez wasn't up (he was still sitting) when he collapsed a second time.

Oh, I admit that Bradley was tougher and more versatile than Tszyu... DEFINITELY more heart than Tszyu. But I dunno if that equates to a win. Timmy was very vulnerable to straight punches.

Thing about the Tszyu/Judah stoppage - it wasn't just a double knock down. It was a guy's body/nervous system going berzerk due to head trauma. There is no way a ref lets a fight go on when that has happened. Judah might have saved himself if he'd stayed down longer. But that is not the ref's concern.

Judah seemed fine. He was throwing punches back. At Nady.

yeah, a shit ref would panic a stop the fight right away. A good one would do the mandatory 8 count, and see the state of Judah afterward (he would have been fine)

  22. Initially I thought nady was a cunt for stopping it but in hindsight a ref is kinda forced to stop a fight if a guy falls down again after getting up. That type of behaviour suggests that the brain is rattled.

I mean...it was a fight yet Zab told nady “Don’t ever play with matches”. Had to stop that fight there and then.

Give it up, JOM. You're the only one who thinks it was an early stoppage.

There was once a time when I was THE biggest Zab fan on the forum, and I even back then I said that the stoppage was justified.

Nady stopping it when he did might have saved Zab's prime. He was still the same for many years after.

Had it continued, Tszyu quite probably hurts him so badly that physically he wouldn't have been the same. He likely never goes on to beat Corley, Spinks, and give Floyd a tough fight.

Zoo couldn't stop an ancient, washed up, over-the-hill Juan Laporte. Maybe because of Laporte's legendary granite chin or because Zoo wasn't that good as he was hyped...

A more composed Judah would have schooled Tszyu easily like he did in the first round. The problem was that Zab was too arrogant, too full of himself that by round two he tossed away any precautions and got deservedly starched. That fight frustrates me because we were denied of a greater fight because of Judah's stupidity. Still it was a memorable ending.

David Reid went down three times in the 11 round against Trinidad and yet survived to give deliver a strong 12 round.

Vargas went down twice in the first round practically within seconds one from the other and yet was able to give Tito a tough fight after that. Same with Marquez-Pacquiao 1.

If you can't see Wlad doing no with his head on the vid I posted, then you're even more hopeless than I thought before.

    Anyway, stop trolling with this
