I get Scott Quigg and Lee Selby mixed up. Which one had that corny walk out where he walked half way across the city (pre taped) then entered the arena?
I think Valdez will have too much class and skill for Quigg. But I think it should be interesting, despite Quigg missing the weight.
Do you guys see now why I keep saying Crawford is overrated? This illustrates the point I made just yesterday or something. His opponents' records are far better than their ability. Their records look good, numerically, but they are scrubs - every single one of them since Gamboa. And tbh, even Gamboa is a scrub at 135, so is Burns.
I think Valdez is pretty good btw. Nothing too special, but I quite like him. His fight against the Marriaga was fun.
That's neither here nor there. The point is his opponents are shit. People love to rag on Gennady's opposition, but BigDongo makes Rubio look like a world beater.
Yeah it's a pretty good win, Postol is probably the only non scrub on his resume. And even then he's not great, Lucas was just a very overrated fighter. I'd like to see Crawford against Garcia or Thurman to gauge his ability.
Postol's win over Matty Ice is a bit deceiving. Matty Ice's war with Provo took something outta him (and it ruined Provo).
We'll see where he goes after Horn. Personally, I don't think TC himself is scared of anybody. He has legit self confidence. More than that, a quiet arrogance. However, Arum, despite what he CLAIMS, is probably not in a rush to make Spence-Crawford. I think Bob is praying that Matty Ice beats Pac. If he does, it's a sure bet we'll see Crawford-Matthysse.
What is true is that win-for-win, Spence has a pretty big edge over Craw considering Crawford has never beaten anybody NEARLY as good as Brook.
Why would he though? That's the part I don't quite get. Why sabotage your biggest cash cow? Doesn't Manny make him far more cash than anyone else on his roster?
Good point, I forgot about that. And he did look fucking horrible against Postol. Postol is a guy I would classify as merely average at world level. Yet another opponent who is not as good as his statistically excellent record would suggest.
Also one more thing, I am not a Crawford hater, I just think he's overrated and that there's some serious double standards going on. People rag on GGG's comp, yet somehow not Crawford's at all, everyone thinks the sun shines out of his arse. I know he's good and I don't mind watching him, but even stylistically he doesn't really do it for me. There's many fighters I'd rather watch. I find Chenko way more fun to watch, even clowning overmatched scrubs. Spence is also far more watchable imo, not to mention little Wangek, Inoue, Higa, Golovkin, and more
arum aint really making the money he once was off pacquiao. he had to lower pacquiao's guarantees a LOT to simply break even
Weird, OK. People seem to think Arum takes shit loads from Pacquiao, and Manny should have done one like Floyd etc.
Im talking lately. Over the years he has certainly made a mint off the guy. Im sure arum still makes a bit, but these last few fights he had to renegotiate the guaranteed minimums
You Have to Rate Crawford’s Win Over Indongo More Favorably, Since He Did it 1st and Equally BOUNCED Him Off the Canvas, But PROPS to Regis Prograis Nonetheless... He Wiped his Ass with Indongo and Will Be a Formidable Opponent for ANY Jr. Welter, Including Mikey... REED Thinks the Win LEGITIMIZES Prograis More than it Diminishes Crawford... REED
Given the Number of World Titles, you Don’t Have to Be an ELITE Fighter to Become a “Champion”Anymore... But REED Doesn’t Think a Complete “Bum” Could Become a Unified World Champion, Which Indongo was, Just 2 Fights Ago... Clearly, he’s NOT a Top Tier Fighter, But “Bum” is a Bit Extreme in the Opposite Direction... REED
Ageeed. People are shitting on TC, and not giving Rougarou any credit. We'll see how Mikey looks tonight, but I'd give Prograis a good chance at pulling an upset on Garcia.
It was in the Ammy’s, but Prograis Held His Own with Spence at 152 Pounds... Mikey was SMALLER than Broner, who’s Probably a Natural 140 Pounder Himself... Mikey vs Prograis Would Indeed Be Interesting...There’s a PHYSICALITY to Prograis That Doesn’t Seem to Bode Well for a SMALLER Fighter, On Paper... REED
Prograis is extremely physically strong for a junior welter. That much is apparent from having watched a number of his fights. He always physically manhandles his opponents. Seems to have a solid chin too. Mikey will have to box to beat him. A brawl favors Rougarou.
