Bob Hazelton ... that's all you got ... a journeyman who also dabbled in competitive weightlifting

I can give you 500 steroid stories from the NFL during the 70s ... that's a sport where usage is common

Steroid usage in boxing was not common in Ken Norton's day ... as a matter of fact, it was practically unheard of ... burden of proof is on you ... it's not even hard to spot when various sports first started experiencing a surge ... baseball in the 70s, you have to look high and low for it... baseball in the 1990s? It's fucking everywhere... where's the flashpoint? Jose Canseco

It's been almost 40 years since Ken Norton threw his last punch in a totally disorganized sport that is TERRIBLE at keeping secrets and yet all you've got is Bob fucking Hazelton whose story was first told in the 1980s

Nice goal post moving, you asked for one, and once you got it, you ask for more.

Also, since boxing is an individualistic sport, it's much easier to keep usage of steroids hidden. I'll say it again, if you don't think it's plausible (or even possible) that boxers were using roids in the 70's, you're naive as hell.

    You are an absolute tit

I never said it was IMPOSSIBLE... just highly unlikely since there's zero stories about it (and your reasoning that boxing is LESS likely to reveal such a thing is the height of ludicrousness... boxing is EASILY the most transparently scandalous sport in modern history)

Burden of proof is on you

what's this absurdity about boxing being one of the most transparent sport?? there's ton of things that are hidden in that sport. In fact, it's one of the more opaque. But, as always, you will use any bullshit to try to support your lame argument.

And why are you still claiming there's zero story even though I just gave you one? Nice attempt to ignore the facts that don't please you. Only proves me once again that any discussion with you is futile

Not to mention that the same bozo that is asking for proof of steroids usage in the 70's is accusing Haye of using some even though he was tested numerous times and never returned a positive result. Talk about being inconsistent

Let's be honest here. I'm sure people didn't know a damn thing about steroids back in the day. They probably looked at them like we now look at vitamins or protein shakes. Nevermind frown on it or test for it LOL

Sorry but you're too stupid to live ... boxing is utterly loaded with scandals and it never takes very long to unravel them ... yet somehow common steroid usage goes undiscovered for 40+ years in complete defiance of every single scandal in the sport's history (including things that are far easier to conceal than widespread doping)

You are an absolute moron ...

Honestly I'm done with you. You're as dumbed and dogmatic as panchy. Tried to gave you the benefit of the doubt cause I'm more often in agreement than I am with him, but your logical reasoning is as flawed and biaised

I have to say, cdogg’s posts are a joy to read. It’s just insult after insult, totally politically incorrect.

“You’re too stupid to live” (my personal favourite )

    “You are an absolute tit”

What about non-HWs? RJJ? Bradley? Page? No one has the best P4P physique until they beat Page.

In track-and-field steroids were used already in the sixties. Very few actually knew HOW they should have been used and thus not that many got any advantage but PEDs were known.

The reason why PEDs of 60s and 70s are not talked about is the fact that it wasn't illegal (steroids were banned as late as in 74). What is talked about is the 80s when the East European athletes juiced despite it being prohibited.

I would find it very surprising if PEDs hadn't been used in boxing circles as the biggest money was there and there was no real testing (there still isn't). I also don't think it is a very important nor curious question

off topic, but Frazier was an absolute weakling

This is shocking. I can easily do twice as much than this (I think it's a 35 on each side). really makes me wonder if he could have compete with the current HW. Sure strenght is not the end of everything in boxing, but it's important.

It's 160 pounds they're pressing over their heads. It's quite a bit. You're saying you can lift 320 pounds over your head??

Well shoulder press isn't indicative of punching strength. Bench Press would be more indicative if anything, however Frazier is a weakling and he'd be destroyed by a guy like Joshua.

I have to say though that I very much doubt you could shoulder press 320. You probably confused what weight they were pressing..
