Boxing and UFC are very different but they have somewhat transferable skills. Hockey has no skill that's transferable to basketball and vice versa. A Better analogy would have been something like NFL to Rugby.

Marcus Davis and Patrick Cote, who were shitty boxers, had pretty good MMA career, I don't see why Davis, who's miles ahead of them as a striker, couldn't do it if he's serious about it.
