Nice video. Joshua seems a little scared to me...but that will work in his favour IMO. He can't take Parker lightly.

I agree Sly is one of the most fun posters of are times. FB isn't quite the same without him. I also like the fact he's pretty much exactly the same as he was on SO, even though he must be like 50 now :D

BTW thanks Sly and Punk for the stuff on Parker.

I have to say he's better than expected, especially seeing as I have low expectations in this current climate of heavyweights.

He does have good handspeed and respectable power, and is just overall less bumish than I expected.

The Botha fight was hilarious, he reminded me of Ippo - the Dempsey Roll :D

I'm now more interested in this upcoming Joshua fight.

It's a dangerous fight for Joshua...and not because of Parker's power, but because of his chin.

The real reason Sly is leaving us. He's been told to get his affairs in order before he goes on a little trip:

Obviously, You Can OVERINDULGE in Things that Bring About Pleasure, but Unless Fightbeat is BAD for You in Some Way, it Makes No Sense to QUIT Posting Altogether...

You're a BOXING Fan and This is THE Most Knowledgeable Messageboard for Such on the Internet, Bar None...

Take Days, Weeks, Even Months Off, Here or There, but Quitting???...

So After Joshua-Parker, You're Quitting and WON'T Be Back for Joshua-Wilder???...Of Course You Will...

REED Would Dare Say EVERY Fightbeater has Other Means of Passing Time, but Until the Day You Cease to LOVE Boxing or BIG Fights are Removed from the Equation At 1nce, it's Nonsense to Speak of Quitting...

I'm the same though, no one I know is into boxing really so it's either discuss it here, or discuss it with no one.

I'm fortunate to have a guy at my job who is a hardcore, and who actually trains local fighters in his spare time, so we talking boxing at work all day. Today for instance dude talked for an hour on how beautiful Mikey's footwork is and we debated who wins Mikey-Loma. But still, even he doesn't have the knowledge that we do... not in an overall historical sense anyway. There's no real world substitute for Fightbeat.

No doubt. That's why I've become more of a part time Fightbeater recently, if you want to get as much work done as possible, you hafta try and evade Fightbeat :D

But if you really don't feel like working, what better way to while away the hours than chatting shit to your Fightbeat brethren :D

And the fact that we've all been posting together since the late 90s/early 2000/ makes FightBeat that much more unique.

Most people in GENERAL don't know much about the current state of boxing, let alone the history of it and who was who, and why said fighter was so important.

I don't post as much as I used to either(Work, life circumstances play a role), but I can't imagine talking boxing anywhere else, honestly. Not to the degree which we do here.

It is mental isn't it that we've been posting together for nigh on 20 years? It does make this forum very unique.

    Yep.
Sly is such a great and cool poster....and all-round human-being, that when he and his wife have a son he'll love it, amazingly, uncondicionally, until maybe 15 or 16 years later when his son says "Dad - I'm gay".

    Answers on a postcard, please...

The more I think about this fight the more I'm nervous about a possible upset. Joshua's stamina MUST HOLD

Because Parker will not be put away soon and he'll keep coming and coming with fast combinations and decent power.

Joshua's chin is good enough to withstand the odd Parker bomb (IMO) but is it good enough to take it down the stretch if he fatigues? I'm not so sure. Joshua has to come in lighter than usual so help his stamina.

If Joshua can put enough hurt on Parker early than Parker wouldn't have enough in the latter rounds to trouble him. So Joshua has to come in light AND must put enough damage on Parker early.

It's a tough fight and I'll tell you this...no matter what happens, I'd pick Parker to beat Wilder.
