Gee, where to start? First of all she is not relevant to the story like at all, however she joins Finn almost from the start and takes a good chunk of film time to cover her pointless Rosie O Donnell-like jokes and dialogue that could very well should have been spend on Luke & Rey, which by the way, have less screen time than Rose. There is a whole 25 minutes sequence at that galactic casino that was totally unnecesary as they went there looking for something they never found. Oh yeah she freed some abused animals to cater the PETA crowd members, but totally didn't do anything to help the slave children 'cause animals are more cute. she was supposed to be funny (she wasn't), she was supposed to be likable (she wasn't) she was a SJW (oh yeah, BIG TIME) and kept saying things both the other characters and the audience already knew. Oh and the actress was terrible. Her scenes felt forced and pointless. At least Jar Jar had the excuse of being a cgi creature. Rose was the second worst thing about this film.

25 minutes? More like an hour.

I can't believe more people aren't bashing this trash movie.

  5. From what I saw pre-release it didn't impress and from what I've heard since has confirmed that.

Maybe a lot the Star Wars 'newbies' have got their heads buried in the sand, idk?

You will not say that if you listen at the vast majority of reviews on youtube. BTW its Rotten Tomatoes audience score has dropped to an abysmal 49% rotten...ouch!

Another movie absurdity: Luke projected himself to that salt planet thus he wasn't there at all in solid form. How come the 'dices' he gave Leia were picked up from the floor by Kylo Ren? Wasn't that a 'projection' too?

Star Wars toys sales have slowed down dramatically and particularly the Last Jedi toys are literally not moving out of the stores shelves. Many toy stores are now placing them in the discount bins meaning that toys that had a price tag of $19.99 now you can get them as low as $5 and some cases (like the Rose figurine doll) for just $3.

And the apparent never ending ads targeting girls while ignoring SW main buyers, males, seems to be part of the problem.

you think any male SW collector will buy these?

    Interesting stuff from quora:

It’s called the velvet hammer and it’s used a lot in the corporate world. This is where you don’t have to pay off someone you just have to have the means in place to gently threaten someone.

In Disney’s case, they are in the process of buying out all of the media outlets. They recently acquired 21st Century Fox media empire, (with the exception of it’s news channel). So, if you’re a critic, and you work for ABC, you might want to think twice about dissing Star Wars or even the “porgs” since Disney owns ABC and all of its outlets.

For at least the last 10 years Disney has been lobbying heavily to gain control of the Internet. With purchases of media outlets in the $52 billion dollar range, it’s not a stretch to think that they couldn’t pull it off.

Rotten Tomatoes is owned by Time Warner. Time Warner is about to be acquired by At& T. With these types of acquisitions in the works it would not be a good idea for a mere critic to come out against Disney’s products, especially when it’s a product that has billions on the table like Star Wars.

So, you critics had better watch what you say, or the pink slip is in the mail.

  9. This film was SHIT.

  10. I´ve not even seen it yet but surely, isn´t it just a highly visual sci-fi action movie with tons of characters (likeable and dislikeable) and plot-holes that have occurred in all the other Star Wars movies?

Nah this movie was on another level bad.

My brother, his son and my sister were raving about it... they loved it

I told them "Star Wars? Pffffffft ... more like Star BORES, amirite???"

Regardless, it's highly unlikely I'll ever see the film

  13. word. This was next level shit. Awful, awful film.

  14. I bet they're the sort of people who've never heard of, let alone seen stuff like Network, The Parallax View, Three Days Of The Condor, Five Easy Pieces, Marathon Man, The Conversation, All The President's Men, etc, etc

Well how else do you remind white people that they’re supposed to hate black people? You do like they did with the Presidency, you hire a black guy.

Kathleen Kennedy stated that girls can't identify with Luke Skywalker. That must be one of the most stupid things ever said by anyone associated with the SW franchise. Her feminist agenda is obvious.

So following your logic, boys should easily identify with the female hero in these films

  23. Dude....

What that feminist said is cunt fuck and shit. Admit it. Lots of black kids love white superman and lots of white kids love Will Smith, Idris Elba, Samuel Jackson, Denzel etc.

Only saw Rogue One and The Last Jedi once. Didn't and won't buy the home release. Won't even watch The Solo movie. Disney is on a roll.

What? Panchy objects to the notion that girl's can't identify with Luke Skywalker... So I'm asking if he agrees that boys CAN identify with the female protagonist in these films?

The action was mindboggling. A very entertaining movie. I do not have a problem with the SJW stuff or the lack of a Snoke origins story.
