I love me Some notorious, but for me, Rope takes it. Such a great movie and the acting was insane. Everything is just so clever. And it all takes place in one room. Pure Genius. And an underrated Hitchcock film
Never seen Notorious. I should actually make it a point to watch it this week. Rope is very good, but I actually prefer Dial M for Murder to it. Lifeboat is better than all four.
North by Northwest is better than Psycho. So is Rear window. btw, lifeboat aint better than Rope or Notorious. the lady vanishes is better than Lifeboat.
The ending of Rear Window is retarded, and basically kills the movie. If it had a classic ending, it'd have a case over Psycho, but as such, it doesnt. North by Northwest is not better than Psycho. The Birds is better than North by Northwest imo. How do you rate Dial M for Murder?
Fuck off here with that bullshit. The birds is dumb as fuck. Dial M. was good. If you ever watch A Perfect Murder with Douglas, that is actually a remake of this movie.
Overall, it's hard to beat Vertigo. That's the film Hitchcock considered his true masterpiece, and it was his most personal film. He was pissed that North by Northwest was a mainstream hit when it came out, while the brilliance of Vertigo wasn't even realized until after Hitch was dead.
The Birds is fuckin awesome. It was on TV last week. It hasn't lost its touch. I saw A Perfect Murder a long time ago and can barely remember it.
The birds makes no sense. The acting and visuals are great, but the whole point of the movie is fucking ridiculous.
It's good and has an argument at the third spot. But I can't take it over his two cinematic masterpieces. Strangers on a Train is very good.
There is no point. That IS the point. The Birds attacked for no rhyme or reason. Hitchock intentionally never provides an explanation for their behavior.
He never provides an intention in the movie, but did talk about it. And he said that the birds were tired of being plucked and eaten by man so decided by ban together and try to kill them. Obviously the studios told hitchcock that was a fucking dumb motherfucking idea so he left it out. But that was his thought process when making that movie with the dumb ass plot.
Yeah not sure what X is on about. That had to be a terrifying feeling to know the killer is coming and you cant even move.
Rewatch the final few minutes of Rear Window. It's poorly executed and the killer is stopped far too easily. Still an excellent movie. due in large part to Jimmy Stewart's great acting, which is also what made Vertigo and Rope so good.
It was great. In the end, everyone was looking at Stewart's window, just like how he would look into theirs. He was stopped by cops. I mean he wasnt a super hero. He was a clumsy killer.
