    The Shining is a comedy from the start ... Nicholson is absolutely terrible in it and Shelley Duvall's character is so stupidly oblivious, so hysterically fucking INEPT that it completely eclipses acceptability. It's a ridiculous film that looks gorgeous.

    I have been saying this as long as we have been discussing films here and I won't budge

    The Shining isn't a great film, it's not even a good film ... it is unintentional comedy that happens to look spectacular

    I'm with Mcdogg here: The Shinning is extremely overrated simply because Stanley Kubrick directed it. The film is not one bit scary and doesn't deliver the goods. I have mentioned this many times here too.
