That's why I was so confused about Punk's post, as that's what I thought he meant, and I was thinking "Who the fuck doesn't like newsboy hats?".

 

Given he's the HW champ, Joshua's boxing knowledge seems a little lacking, surprisingly. In this video, he is confusing experience/pacing yourself with ring generalship, and also ring IQ with defense. Maybe he is just getting terms mixed up?

I don't mind Joshua, and he's obviously improved since the Olympics where he looked pretty stiff and robotic.

But honestly, he hasn't improved THAT much. I mean, if there was one word to best describe Joshua, it would be "basic".

It really surprises me that he's the best heavyweight in the world tbh.

In my opinion Joshua is more to the point here than it seems, in fact probably more than he realizes himself, as he doesn't seem too bright.

In boxing it is much more difficult to tell the exact difference between IQ, technique, tactics and conditioning than in most areas.

For example: is Mayweather remarkably intelligent a boxer, or does he just have more physical tools, which enables him to do things most can't? If you have the ability, you also see the chance that others don't.

Or, was Mike Tyson just fearless and physically superior when he attacked bigger guys, or is exactly that, the ability to use your strengths and work under pressure, the same as boxing IQ?

If Joshua works on his ring generalship, as in uses the distance, picks the moments when to attack, places his shots better, then he indeed can go on longer.

And a big part of Tyson's defensive abilities was the way he read his opponents and predicted the incoming punches, which sounds like intelligent approach to me
