    Easily???

Most unofficial scorecards had him by only a few point. This was far from an easy win

Not sure sloppy is apt tbh. Wilder is sloppy.

Joshua is more of a big robotic oaf.

As vulnerable as Wilder looked, him taking out Ortiz was far more impressive.

Joshua has gotten cautious since the Klitschko fight. In the long run, that's possibly his best bet due to his somewhat shaky chin. And against Wilder that would serve him well.

But AJ was more exciting before he became champion. Used to let his hands go more.

Yeah true, robotic is more like it.

That said, he did fight well, kept Plodker at the end of his long slow jab and looked dangerous at times. Only got hit a tiny bit.

    Boring but decent performance.

Because Wilder carries his power late, AJ's best chance to win has to be to bomb him out early. If AJ is cautious with Wilder that will spell TROUBLE down the stretch.

The irony is not lost that Kevin Barry trained Tua along with Plodker. Both froze in their biggest fights, no plan B, just plod, eat jabs and throw punches at the air.

Wilder isn't dangerous when he's being attacked...Wilder is dangerous when he is attacking or when both fighters are feeling each other out.

I agree with that. To put it simply, the longer the fight goes the more chance of Deontay’s power taking its toll, or simply landing one huge right hand.

Against Wilder, AJ's best strategy would be to put Wilder on the back foot. Wilder isn't effective when backed up. But the possibility of him landing a bomb is always there.

But AJ will need to pick and choose when to exchange and when to avoid them. His chin is definitely vulnerable.

AJ got hit flush with right hands a few times tonight, if it's Wilder landing that, it's lights out.

I disagree. He was out on his feet in the process. Most likely taken out if Ortiz wasn’t a fat old man.

I don't know about you fellas, but for me, that first round was something else. I couldn't believe the ferocious action we witnessed.

“Weird” is How REED Would Best Describe Joshua-Parker...

Parker Didn’t Pass REED’s Pre-Fight Eyeball Test,Yet His Preferred Pace and His Ring Generalship Carried the 1st Half of the Fight for Sure...

Perhaps Not On the SCORECARDS, Yet he LOOKED Like a Dude Who’s Boxed Since He was 3-4 Years Old vs. a Guy Who Just Started @ 18 or Whatever...

The Ref was Shit for Sure, Ignoring the Persistently “Lose Taype”, but Let’s Not Pretend EVERY Single Break in Action Benefitted Joshua Either...In Fact, REED Would Argue the Ref Impeded Joshua’s Offense As Much or MORE, Overall...

Joshua Was More VISIBLY Upset @ the Ref, for Sure...

After 12, REED Figured Joshua Would Get The Nod, But the Scorecards were SHAMEFUL...118-110 and 118-109 (2x)???...That’s NOT the Fight that “Had Happened”...

I could even see a case for a draw (though not a very convincing one).

It was an interesting fight, but hardly a classic. That is what happens when a decent fighter fights another one...

Joshua deserved the win but the scorecards were ridiculous - Parker has no claim to have won the fight but he was in it, from start to finish. Joshua started well, after a nothing first round, but he started to gas at the sixth and Parker's speed advantage started to make inroads. Parker also ran out of steam, though, and that allowed Joshua to coast to a guaranteed win if the fight went to the cards. What we learned was not a lot. Parker has good handspeed but no real power and he is too small to close the range on someone like AJ who is a lot taller. As expected, AJ's 'power' is a myth. Parker never looked remotely like being stopped. AJ still has stamina issues, but battled well and threw more uppercuts than usual and, but for the referee, might have scored more good shots.

I had the sound off on my recording but have subsequently been told that SKY were critical of the referee. I should fucking think so - he was a disgrace. Every time a fight threatened to break out that cunt was in the middle of it: a classic Hearn shill making sure than no harm came to anyone worthwhile.

AJ v Wilder is, in my mind, a pick 'em. AJ is the better boxer, but if Wilder is still in there punching past halfway he could lay AJ out with a single shot. When the odds come out, and AJ is a prohibitive favourite, I'll be lumping on Wilder.

I was with some fellow boxing afficiandos for the night, and didn't score it, but I certainly said at the end of 8 I thought that, at worst, Parker was 5-3 down. No-one I was with thought otherwise. Parker had a speed advantage and kept Joshua honest throughout. In the last round he held the centre ring and pushed the action - all the judges gave it to Joshua.

The referee and the Judges who marked those cards were an absolute disgrace.
