If the fight had gone on, there was a potential overlap with the greatest expansion team of all-time in any of the big 4 Yank sports leagues, the Vegas Golden Knights having a Stanley Cup playoff game at T-Mobile on May 5
LOL. Love this. Can't say that I feel bad for all the backlash the protected bitch Ginger is getting. Fuck his career.
Technically he Was, but the NSAC Reduced it to 6 Months Due to Team Canelo's "Cooperation with the Investigation"... In Other Words, They Made the 6 Month Suspension Retroactive to the 1st Day Canelo Pissed Dirty (February 17th), and he'll Be Eligible Again on August 17th... Just In Time to Fight On Boxing's Other BIG PPV Weekend of the Yearly Calendar, Mexican Independence Day, in September... The NSAC DIDN'T Even Fine Canelo... REED
I hope G doesn’t try to pull some shit like being extra tough in negotiations so they can avoid a rematch because they are worried Canelo will be rusty from a year off.
Funny You Mention That, Because the WBC, the SAME WBC that Tried to Pressure Canelo Into Facing Triple G (Resulting in Canelo VACATING the Title Himself), Has Been FRONT AND CENTER Proclaiming Canelo's Innocence in All of this... Obviously Trying to Get Back into the Good Graces of Team Canelo and Golden Boy... REED's Sure They'll Conjure Up a Cubic Zirconia Encrusted, Pleather Belt to Award to Canelo... REED
That could be worth big money on Pawn Stars in 2083. The WBC only issued 700 of their prestigious cubic zirconia encrusted, pleather belts. "Where did you get that belt?" "Well my grandfather used to be a boxing judge ..."
Do you think after tasting Triple G's power Canelo got extra spooked about what would happen if he faced two time champion Randall Bailey?
I don't count the time he pinned Bret Hart for the intercontinental belt. The replay shows a clear manager interference.
We Believe Canelo So full of shit, they jumped to his defense and proclaimed his innocence as soon as the news broke out.
Normally I'd agree but the piece is by Tom Hauser whose investigative chops are proven (if not his boxing acumen, which I find suspect) and it's quite thorough... an informative read
Not to side with the corrupt WBC at all, an interesting point was made in the HBO podcast. If Canelo got a two-year ban like Olympic Athletes, it would hurt him but GGG perhaps even more so. If the fight got cancelled, he has no fight that would provide him as big a payday nor anything close to it. Also there is no other bout that would be as important for his legacy. Even if the bout got postponed for a year, it would help Canelo more as he is the younger man. At Golovkin's age even half a year may be relevant at some point. So Canelo deserves to get punished, but looking from the point of the guy that GOT cheated, postponing the fight might not be the best option
