Out of: There Will Be Blood Inherent Vice Boogie Nights Phantom Thread The Master Magnolia Punch Drunk Love Hard Eight
And The Master would be my third choice. I recently rewatched Magnolia for the first time in years. It's very good, but a little overrated.
It's one of the best films ever made, the FUCK you staying away from it for? 40 years from now, TWBB might be held in the same regard Citizen Kane is held in today.
There Will Be Blood is the only decent film out that list. With the exception of Boogie Nights, which was saved by the 70s nostalgia factor, all the others are sleep inducing affairs.
There Will Be Blood and Boogie Nights are two very, very different movies...........but both are THE peak PTA movies. 1A and 1B in my opinion.
Because it stars Daniel Day-Lewis, an actor that, in whatever character he plays or movie he stars in, bores me to tears.
Love these: There Will Be Blood Boogie Nights Magnolia (tour-de-force performances from about six different actors) Punch Drunk Love Love parts of this - it's difficult to fully love a movie when it's about such awful characters: The Master This looks alright, but only seen about 1/2: Inherent Vice Yet to see: Hard Eight Phantom Thread
Same here. I only woke up at the WTF finale when, after each character was singing the same song, it started raining frogs!!!
