    I prefer FMJ overall

The last 1/3 of Apocalypse Now is just a fucking mess to me and Dennis Hopper is unwatchable

"Apocalypse Now" is I guess, objectively the better movie, but if I had to pick one to watch right now, it would be "Full Metal Jacket". I even like the 2nd half, that everybody else seems to hate.

"Apocalypse Now" is like doing fucking homework. You need to commit to that shit. The documentary on "Apocalypse Now" is inherently more watchable then the actual movie.

  8. Full Metal Jacket, as good as it is, doesnt even remotely capture anything accurate about Vietnam.

2nd-half, it was shot in the then re-developing London Docklands.....and it fuckin looks like it, too.

You're absolutely right. My dad has told me as much. Still quite absorbing in it's own atmospheric way though.

Agree, Platoon is the best of the Vietnam films

Colluding with the Leftists here: Platoon is the best Vietnam film. Period!

Fuck Redux. The orignal is miles better.

Agreed. Redux drags ass and diminishes the film.

I'm with Illu, I think Redux improves it. Fills in lots of giant holes in the original release.

  16. It doesn't improve it in any way whatsoever.

    Nobleart Narwhal King

    I say it does.

  20. Yup.
    And I'm right.

Redux is pointless. I'm not a fan of adding onto any classic that's ALREADY long in the first place.

    The original is much better.

  22. Yup.
For those and the reasons I've posted.

Stop fucking pretending that "Apocalypse Now" is some sort of unassailable masterpiece. It has about a half dozen great scenes, but as a full movie, it's a fucking mess of a film.

Apocalypse Now is the most overrated film of all time

  27. Wrong Wrong Wrong!

    Bitch.

  28. Xplosive

It's not even the most overrated WAR movie of all time!

That distinction goes to The Thin Red Line... which is a pretentious, "artsy" piece of shit.

You're just trolling me now, motherfucker!

    Not ganna do it!

"Apocalypse Now" is the "Scarface" of War movies.
