Brinks Truck Thomas has destroyed any small chance he had of getting a huge contract.

He, along with Frye and Cleveland's 1st rounder (not the Brooklyn pick), was traded to the Lakers for Clarkson and Nance Jr.

Looks to me like the Cavs did alright with these trades. Clarkson and Nance are intriguing, and George Hill could be a fucking blessing for them if he hasn't lost a step.

Billy Donovan has been a pretty bad coach for OKC. He does a lot of the same head scratching things Scott Brooks used too. It’s funny how Durant’s subtweet where he said he didn’t want to play for Billy Donovan was basically swept under the rug and never examined whatsoever. I couldn’t believe when he brought Corey Brewer -a player I always hated because of his limitations- to the team. I bet if Jokim Noah ever gets bought out, Donovan will probably bring him to OKC too.

This has been a terribly frustrating season and OKC has never found consistency much less a real identity. Last season was much more fun and to be honest I wouldn’t even want to win the championship on a shitty season like this. I was hoping we’d miss the playoffs so BD would get fired but since that’s nearly impossible at this point I’ll just have to hope being one and done in the playoffs will be enough.

It’s not that the mix is fucked up, it’s that Donovan sucks at getting positive use from his players. He can’t even get a system in place to give the team an identity. Look how easily Doc Rivers, Brad Stevens and especially Mike D’iantoni incorporated all their new players into a cohesive unit. Look at how Donovan completely botched Olidipo and Sabonis misusing both and Nate McMilian had them being high efficient players almost immediately.

Donovan also routinely ignores stats that tell him playing certain lineups and players are detrimental to wins, just like Brooks used to. The guy is infuriating.

Westbrook is the most overrated player in the NBA. Freakin stat padder and that's all he cares about. He averaged a trip double only cuz he steals rebounds, even Melo has admitted it. But I don't need him to, just look at the disparity between Adam's def and off rebounds. He'd be averaging 15 boards a game playing without WB.

He gets PG13 and Melo and still has a mediocre team. Oladipo leaves and has the best year of his career.

Also, his defense sucks ass now.

Stat padding, inefficient, whiny ass will never win anything.

    That's all for now.

If you don’t watch the team then don’t try to comment on Russ. Melo was joking about that. Russ is getting those rebounds within the flow of the game. I watched that game tonight and he wasn’t killing himself to get those rebounds it was just happening naturally and balls were even just coming to him. Russ made all those rebounds look easy because he’s a naturally good rebounder the way Kevin Love is.

Also Olidepo wouldn’t be where he is now without Russ. Vic himself said he learned so much from Russ about preparation, working on his game and taking care of his body from Westbrook.

I agree that watching westbrooks preparation and fitness helped oladipo but being on the court together clearly hindered his game as is the case with many guys who play alongside westbrook

I don’t know that that is true. Oladipo possibly would have had similar success had he stayed in OKC. Russ wasn’t holding today’s version of Oladipo back, today’s version never existed before this season. The OKC Oladipo was the same pretty good player that was in Orlando for three seasons.

Maybe Russ would have limited Dipo from reaching this seasons lofty allstar level but at the same time that has more to do with both guys needing the ball in their hands, playing a similar style and the same position. Dipo spends three years in Orlando, never improves, goes to OKC and improves the following season. He then gives credit to Westbrook and people want to blame Westbrook not for helping Dipo but for holding him back.

All that said I’ve had it with OKC and their season. It’s been a terrible year full of inconsistent frustrating basketball. Last season was way more enjoyable and now this team looks like it doesn’t believe in itself anymore than I do. I’m certain OKC will lose to the Jazz and Westbrook has been his usual not very good playoff version that I’ve come to expect every post season.

Early in the season I was on pins and needles hoping George will resign with us. Now? I actually hope he doesn’t. We don’t need another inconsistent player who we aren’t sure is going to play well on any given night, we already have that with Westbrook. And unlike George, Westbrook plays great more often than he doesn’t. Since the Allstar break the best you get from George is a good quarter or a good half and I don’t need that. If we’re going to be mediocre let it be by full nuclear Westbrook, because at least then it’s not only enjoyable but I don’t have to worry about big expectations crashing down on my head.
